RE: FCS Playoffs
I agree with you. They are more beatable this year than the previous four.

RE: FCS Playoffs
They are more beatable this playoffs because their half of the bracket is the bracket of death. JMU/Jax St's side of the bracket is a comparative cakewalk. Massey has Ill St #2, NDSU as #1, Jax St #3 and JMU#13 in his power ratings but he gives JMU the 4th best chances of winning the whole tournament(the other three teams I listed are the 3 teams with better odds in the listed order) because they have the easiest path to the finals of any team in the field. Again, Massey is just one set of power ratings so take it for what its worth.

RE: FCS Playoffs
JMU has been screwed so many times with pairings that I am not going to apologize if we actually receive a favorable path for the first time in 12 trips to the playoffs.

Yep my thoughts exactly when I first saw the bracket. Ndsu fans will get no sympathy from me.
If you want a fifth championship, you're going to earn it.

Looks like RU was the most fortunate. They get a seed even though they were at 18 in the GPI. Stop bitchin spatters!

Of course they got a seed, they won the CAA. When was the last time the CAA champ didn't get a seed? Goes to show the respect the CAA still has, even given the drop in talent/competition.

Not trying to sound snotty or stuck up but it seems the CAA has enough respect that the AQ will always get a seed.

Surprised by UNH being in at all....35? Wasn't AQ....bad losses and good wins. I'd call that CAA respect for sure. I think we will win but it won't be easy.

11 consecutive prior appearances will always give them the benefit of the doubt as long as they get to 7 wins.

Agree. From what I've seen this year, we have a good "O" line. "O" lines win football games with repeat 1st downs. Repeat 1st downs with long drives wear down any good defensive effort and you win. Hope we still have the same starters and everyone is healthy. I have not kept up with the details.

We have a good o-line? Maybe I was just imagining the pressure in schor's face on virtually every play the past two or three games?

I have not watched a lot of film Jaworski style, but I believe that many of those times were on blitzes where Schor either didn't read them correctly or was slow in his decision making.

...and just got easier as Colgate is rated about 7 points worse than UNH. Dukes just need to take care of business on their own field and let the path in front of them keep opening up.

If we believe in wishful thinking, everyone reading this should be a huge Sam Houston St and Chattanooga mocs fan next week. The road to Frisco would go completely through BFS in that scenario.
(SHSU will be a pickem or very small dog, Chatty will be about a touchdown dog)

RE: FCS Playoffs
With the MEAC no longer participating playoffs, that dropped the # of AQ back to 10, which means could drop the # of At Large back to 10 and go back to a 20 team playoff. A 20 team playoff this year would have meant this years last 4 at large didn't get in. Well, this is how they fared:
-Fordham was embarrassed by UTC 50-20.
-EIU was embarrassed by UNI 53-17.
-UNH was upset by Colgate 27-20.
-WIU against non scholly Dayton only led 10-7 at the half before winning 24-7.

The playoffs should go back to 20..

I am all for more over less. This is one year. I like having 24 teams as opposed to 20.

Well you obviously like more crappy teams getting in, because the last 4 in this year weren't much different than last year, and they won't be much different than next year. Watered down garbage that has zero chance of making the NC game..

I agree - 24 was ok before the MEAC/SWAC bailing and all the moveups. Good teams were getting left out because of at least 4 (Pioneer, MEAC, SWAC, NEC) subpar autobids AND there were more good teams, but the last four BDK cited were really weak in hindsight.

But it wasn't just a "few byes," I don't really remember the exact setup, wasn't it 12 byes and only 4 opening weekend games? Was that the way it was when we played at EKU?
