RE: So...does Hunt go pro now?
I don't think I can even watch a bowl game at this point. I'm not as upset with the loss as I am the fact that the team looked like it came out flat. Not that I expect a lot of rah-rah, helmet slapping and head butting to go on, but if you can't show some emotion before the opening kick-off for what will likely be the biggest game in their athletic careers for the possibilities it presented, then how do you get fired up after you fall behind? I'm tired of seeing other teams come into our stadium and looking ready to go - and we simply are not ready to bring it.

Game over - 2 losses, both at home, both with conference championship implications. I don't know what school would to hard after Campbell now and off the +$1M/season contracts.

Could not have said it better.

Really frustrating to hear the coach say they were a bit apprehensive.

Make some adjustments. There's only one thing that you can point to for continual losses in big games to NIU and others and that's coaching.

RE: So...does Hunt go pro now?
I don't think the team came out flat on offense. They came out to pound the run and the coaches or the QB optioned to pass and killed a couple drives.

WMU's first long play, that was a very good pass to Bravermen. We did little to shorten the time the QB had to look around, true. On the 2-point, yep, they changed QBs. Hmmm. Defense may have been a bit asleep. On WMU's second long play for TD, we were late getting D on the field and should have called TO (and I honestly was saying that at the time). We didn't. It was still a good play by WMU made by a player with speed that allowed him to pull away. I can fault our coaches for not calling TO's on D but not for losing a round or two to a superior player.

If Hunt stays his final year, and stays healthy, do we return to him as the "feature" back with the most carries? We have a stable of returning backs, including a freshman who redshirted this season, I believe...my guess is never a bad thing to have too many good running backs, as long as you utilize them effectively...

I do not see hunt getting drafted this year. It just would not be a smart move by him

Seems like he could use his senior season to prove his durability. Will the hammy ever heal fully? He hurt it running track his senior season in HS and it seems like it has been a nagging problem ever since. Next year the OL should be improved and there should be plenty of talent there to spell him. If they could get him to 100%, and keep him there at least until the season starts, he could really up his stock.

Hopefully for me, the Rockets will be in the Boca Bowl and play somebody
like Memphis or Temple.

That would be a good game and give us one more put-up-or-shut-up opportunity.

RE: So...does Hunt go pro now?
A week ago I was salivating at a bowl opportunity against Memphis or Temple. But based on how we played against Western I'm not sure anymore that we can hang with a top-tier AAC team. Would depend on whether or not we send the Rocket team that played the first half against BG and Central, or the Rocket team that pkayed Northern and Western. Unless there are significant changes in focus, attitude and preparation over the next couple weeks we may be better off playing a C-USA or Sun Belt opponent.

But, assuming BG and Northern take the Poinsettia and Mobile bowls, who is our best matchup against an AAC team? Western actually could play with them if they played the way they did against us. UT may be the best the MAC has left but we need to play much better against an AAC team.

Won't be wasting any vacation time or dollars to watch this team in a bowl game. Sorry, yesterday was a repeat of the last game at Akron fiasco in 2013 -- except this was at home and a lot more riding on it

I'll watch from the comfort of my home, unless I'm working then I'll catch the box score.

I was "All In" on this football team until yesterday's game. Was going to go to the bowl game, wherever it would be.
Now, I'll maybe catch a half of the bowl game from the comfort of my home.

Well, as one of the better MAC programs I just think the fan base expects to see a special team emerge every now and then. 2004 was a long time ago. If the players cant get up for the month of November when the games matter, I guess they shouldn't expect the same from the fans either. Besides we have to pay to travel to the bowl game, they don't.

I am with you on this one, although they will probably win their bowl game because this year they seemed to fold only in those 2 games** where the stakes were the highest with respect to having a league championship opportunity on the line .

Sorry, but at this point in time I can't get very excited about some probable match up with a mid-level sun belt conference team down south somewhere or even a Mountain West also ran type team in Boise which has absolutely nothing at stake except for the difference between a 10-2 and a 9-3 season which is totally trivial compared to what was at stake in the Western game.

**in the previous 5 years a single loss to NIU was enough to take UT out of championship consideration but this year thanks to Ohio's miracle gift, the Rockets were forced to lose a second game to WMU in order to avoid the trip to Ford Field.

I thought about the Akron fiasco as well.
And I am on total agreement on skipping the bowl.

Sadly I was really REALLY excited to go up to Detroit to watch the MACC and support the team in person against BGSU in a rematch for all the marbles.

To me this was the BIGGEST waste of a Rocket football season I have ever had to watch.

I've had a whole day to think of a worse loss in program history and I haven't come up with anything.
