rough not overall as the MAC goes 2-4 but nice wins by Toledo over Youngstown St and Akron over Arkansas. Razorbacks have had their fill of MACtion this year.

Arkansas was a 5 seed last year, but lost all their starters from that team coming into this year. Akron had the edge in experience, which helped them withstand several runs and hold the lead from wire to wire.
Especially impressive when you consider that Akron was missing three guards from its rotation. Noah Robotham is still recovering from last year's ACL, Josh Williams was out with back spasms, and Jimond Ivey got hurt in an exhibition game earlier this week.

Akron kind of salvaged a tough night for the MAC with the win. Arkansas is a mediocre SEC team this year, but Wal-Mart arena is one of the toughest places to play. Arkansas is now 40-2 in non-conference home games under Mike Anderson. The only other loss was to Syracuse.
And Akron pretty much dominated most of the night (never trailed and led by double digits about half the game) despite having just one true guard available against a team known for its full-court press. That guard, though, Antino Jackson, is quickly becoming one of the best players in the MAC. He's just a sophomore and had 23 points and 7 assists.
This Akron team is going to be very tough to beat once Robotham gets healthy (along with Ivey and Williams).

Its halftime at the Paradise Jam and Ohio is leading Tulsa 54-37. Bobcats shooting lights out in the first half- 16-26 overall, 8-10 from three, 14-16 from the line.

Ohio blows a 19 point lead with 10 minutes left, losing to Tulsa 90-88. Man, that would have been a quality win. Now it will count for nothing.

Yeah, but they're in the Virgin Islands, so it can't hurt that much.

Ohio and Tulsa combined for 60 fouls, that's a foul called every 40 seconds. refs were relentless

Toledo women played #3 Notre Dame even until ND got their first lead. Kept the final score within 45.

Tulsa fans are throwing a fit on Twitter, they are deeply offended by Saul Phillips' post game remarks ("offensive" part in bold)-
Saul Phillips Wrote:Disappointing, disappointing. They have nine seniors, we got one. When those guys are selling car insurance, we’ll be winning championships. We got to learn from it, we got to get better.
Apparently suggesting that seniors in college will have jobs in a few years is highly offensive. One fan even forwarded it to the NCAA saying they "should come down hard on him for that. These are kids - STUDENT athletes." Can you believe this silliness?

BSU starts 13-0 and loses to EKU 89-81.
In two road games, they are a blistering 21-38 from the FT line. Coach Whitford doesn't seem to like inside play. At all. I'm a little salty.
I hope they can beat Longwood.

I suspect they're offended that Phillips didn't see all their players as NBA talent.

Bobcats have some firepower. Simmons, Dartis, Kaminsky and Campbell averaging in double figures after three games. Very impressive numbers from the foul line the first three games. ball handling and turnovers an early concern. So far the freshmen look like they will be solid players.

Probably because they caused his Ohio players to fold faster than a cheap K-Mart lawn chair.

why are u so butt hurt over Ohio? your aggression is weirdly misplaced.
To be clear, Phillips wasn't pissed at Tulsa's seniors, he was simply making the point that Ohio has 9 players that have played less college minutes than back up sophomore Mike Laster, and they were playing a Tulsa team with 9 seniors. Tulsa's experience + Ohio's inexperience = Ohio not holding the lead/Tulsa fighting back and grabbing the win. That's all.
