My my.

This will offend Al and the other 8

They live to rag Pastner.

The team is well coached. You hear that Al? Well coached.

The players respect and listen to Coach Pastner. Al? The other 8? Stay off the ledge. Your reason for existence has been exposed as the fraud it has always been.

Hard to believe that Banks just turned 30 this year. That was a heck of a freshman season.

Not very well apparently.

Tyreke didn't have a game like that right out of the gate as a freshman, neither did Rose.

You would have to go back to Keith Lee or Penny. Maybe one or two more.

Rose was better, Hardaway was better, Lee was better, maybe a couple of more, but not Tyreke or Barton, and definitely not Nichols or King or Thomas or Black or Jackson. Dedric Lawson is a solid NBA talent and once he adjusts to the college games will be averaging 20 and 8 per game.

As far as college careers go Barton was more productive than Tyreke at Memphis. He had a lot better career than Tyreke did imo. He did play an extra year I guess but he was a monster at Memphis. Putting up 22 and 16 with 4 assists in your first game is pretty special though. I'm just saying.

He reminds me of David Vaughn - even looks a bit like him.
Didn't Vaughn have 35 vs Jackson St in his first game (or am I mis-remembering). Vaughn would have been one of our all-time greats if not for that knew injust vs Ark..

I love how Dedric can run (and dribble) the full court. I love how this team gets out and run fast breaks

What are you referring to here? How good they BECOME?

Rose struggled a bit his first 10-15 games. He improved and really took off in the NCAA tourney.

Who knows how good Dedric will get, but that was impressive start as any tiger freshman ever.

The rebounds, no. But tyreke started dropping points on everybody right out of the gate.

He was immediately the best player and go-to scorer on a team with Antonio anderson and rob dozier in addition to a lot of good other players. And he was the best player on the court in pretty much every game we played that year, including the losses.

Reke was a clear pro and next level player the second he walked on the court. DL wasn't the best player in this game even. It's not a dig at DL because Reke was the #1 high school player and a top 5 NBA draft pick. DL is not at that level right now

Yes, Tyreke put up points, so did Dedric. And he put up more than Reke did in his first several games.

This is a good example of people arguing for the sake of arguing.

Dedric had one of the best games a freshman has ever has here this early in a season.

Tyreke had 13 turnovers in his first 3 games. He was far from perfect right out of the gate, but he had a mans body and you knew he was going to improve his handles.

RE: Dedric is going to be special!
One thing that has always bothered me was that when Dedric was off to a hot start Josh sat him down for the entire rest of the first half. Think he took him out with 9 pts and such and no foul trouble or anything with like 10 minutes to go.

Josh has always done this when a player really gets going and it has always frustrated me to no end.

Not related to anything, but Dedric is going to be great anyways.

He had foul issues. JP made the right move sitting him.

The 4th foul was a joke of a call. Lawson made no contact with anyone. Amazing what these refs call sometimes. Strange I didn't see those types of calls in the KY/Duke or KU/MSU. But I did see a lot of Duke players with 2 hands on KY players which is supposed to be an instant foul. No call. I also saw Duke and MSU with a lot of pushing in the back of post players . Supposed to be an instant foul. No call. No surprise. They play with different rules.

He picked up his 2nd foul. Last year, JP would have left him in to pick up a 3rd, which would have been a debacle.

Maybe JP has learned something.

I was yelling to take him out. 30 seconds later, whistle and the 4th foul. JP was either unaware or very trusting

He said the best he has seen at Memphis...There were no qualifiers about it being early.

When you watched Tyreke you saw that he could take his man EVERY play. Dedric is not there yet, he may get there.

He had to leave him in. KJ was to jittery to come in and play under control and Marshall is raw right now so can't play him a ton.

Letting him play was a gamble but one he had to make
