And that was against a back-up QB.

That back up QB blew up our game plan. We appeared to have Ward played perfectly.

It's ok to be upset or disappointed. However, people need to stop being ridiculous. Yes, our NY6 aspirations were blown up. Move on and cheer for the Tigers!

And our fans seem to have given up on everything. We are the University of Memphis, we aren't Alabama or Duke or Kentucky or Texas or Kansas. Going to games used to be fun, rooting for our team used to be what it was all about. Now it seems that if the Tigers aren't the very best team in the country, they aren't worth cheering for.

I cheer for the Tigers. Love it when we win, hate it win we lose, but love the team no matter what.

Yes.

And I am sure many will argue that they of course also love the Tigers, and over the top mocking and baiting in the wake of a loss simply proves that.

Again...unsaid here...is the idea that there is a difference in criticism and discussion, and bashing. Of course, just let them vent I am sure.

It's rare for most any school to win 10 games especially 2 years in a row. I don't care which conference you are in. I long for the day for our young men and coaches that we one day will have a program where fans show up 40k+ each game no matter if we are winning 6-7 games. This is the part we are missing by not having an OCS. Students are not used to going to games, and when they graduate they do what they have always done, watch other teams on tv on Saturdays.

Can't remember and not going back through all the Miserable stuff to see who. But there were two I think who said they wish CJF was gone. And, yes, I think one was the same who said Paxton should be benched.

Yea some people cant enjoy anything.

The one good thing about all this was people quit talking about where Fuente was going to go after this year.

It still may occur but if you think fans are falling apart now just wait if that happens.

JF spent more time than usual at his press conference addressing the Houston defeat - including a recap and perspective of the season results to date. I think the carping by some of our fans after the Houston defeat did not help his mood.

Exactly. I love the coach. I love the team. I'm also pissed we blew a 20 point lead. Basically how the vast majority of us feel. Who cares anyway?

I seriously doubt Fuentes mood was affected by the fans. Name one fan base that doesnt have irrational people. I think everyone on this board is focusing way too much on the negative things that are being posted. I guarantee you they are not representative of the fan base.

I'm sure JF can see that.

Hard to believe that the fans have that much impact either way on a Coach of Fuente's caliber. Maybe he just gets ticked off his job description demands press conferences with the media when he'd rather be with the team.

After a really good performance/win, you don't need all the fans telling you how great you are--just to get more out of the experience. And after a really bad one, there's pretty much nothing anyone can say that makes you react any worse than you are already reacting within yourself.

Just another perspective.

My perspective is JF is human and thus influenced by negative feedback he perceives as unjustified.

Every perspective is welcome here...sort of. No matter what comes outta people's minds...ya just wanna not let it lower vitality too much. A little blip down is par for the course...just don't wanna stay too long in the down blip.

That's my perception and not a perspective. We (humans in general) tend to let what other people say/think lower our own energy...i.e. weaken us. It's just the way we're wired..most of us anyway.

I think you're reading too much into the press conference. Tough loss, he's a good coach and still respected amongst the fan base. Life goes on.
