Good job Memphis with the attendance. You have a P5 worthy fanbase.

Wow. That's the first time I saw our attendance. I was guessing 52 or 53. 55 is amazing. I think that's our second highest attended non-sec game ever.

Just curious, you are the second fan I've seen/heard say that; what non-SEC program drew a larger crowd than 55K? My mind is a blank on that one........and probably a lot of other things.

Thanks, I don't know why I can't remember that game drawing a big crowd like that.

Seems like it was Louisville big crowd, a week night game back when Tommie West was coach was our highest non SEC game at the Liberty Bowl. High scoring game - cold windy night on ESPN.

SMU reports fake numbers and has been doing so for years.

I have heard several times that boosters buy up huge lots of tickets before each game, as sort of a donation and to boost their attendance numbers. And then instead of reporting tickets scanned at the gate, they report tickets sold.....pretty sly of them!

Looked like a great environment Memphis. And ECU's season hasn't gone exactly as they hoped, but that's a solid number you pulled last night! 04-cheers

Almost every school reports tickets sold.

Great to see how Memphis fans have responded to the team's success. The Liberty Bowl has looked great this year. Props to the Tigers' support.

Tulane had maybe 10k at the game, and I would be shocked if they sold 26k either.

Bingo and those that say they don't get exposed during bad years.

I'm really hoping Memphis and Temple can keep up their fanbase despite the losses.

When we had our 4,100 game a few years ago against ECU, the attendance was initially reported as something like 34,000. Anyone with eyes could tell you that was BS. Eventually they adjusted it to the 4,100 number.

They did sell 27,000 it was homecoming and Tulane had huge amounts of people in town. The rain all day kept everyone on quad or inside areas with TVS. Glazer area was more packed than the sell outs.
