I don't agree with Carson on this, but its where he gets his belief from. I don't really see how it would affect his candidacy though. Hell, Obama attended a BLT church for 20+ years in Chicago and he was elected twice.
I just ate a blt.....it was dayum good too....lots o' salt....good for the bp and pulse rate....

You just ruled out all the dems since they clearly missed economics.

Good stretch, but the last 20 years should have taught us all that you don't have to know jack about either of those two areas to be President.

Yes...yes we are...as we should. This guy could be representing our country.
Quote:In the end, does it really matter what Carson thinks about the Egyptian pyramids? There will always be science deniers, there will always be people swayed by pseudoarchaeology, and there will always be people who believe what they want no matter the facts. It does matter, though, because Carson is vying for the job of representing the United States. So it matters that Carson casually rejects hundreds of years’ worth of research because in denying science, he throws the U.S. back into the past. It matters that he brazenly denies the Egyptian people their rightful history because this marginalizes an entire culture and makes the U.S. look like an ignorant bully.
that [b] I agree with....
however, in entirety, it's nothing more than pure spin rhetorical bs...

Maybe...if this was the only crazy thing he's said...but he's developing quite a pattern.
"Because a lot of people who go into prison go into prison straight -- and when they come out, they're gay. So, did something happen while they were in there? Ask yourself that question."
It's more than fair to try and ascertain his thought pattern on reality.

He said it in the 90s and doubled down on it yesterday.
It's troubling because he holds onto it in the face of centuries of scholarship and mountains of evidence and all common sense to the contrary. Want to deny the big bang? Hey, reasonable minds can disagree and that's far from proven. Want to deny evolution? That's pushing it because we know microorganisms can evolve, but fine, that's not the craziest thing. But believing the pyramids were built to store grain is ******* crazy and doesn't pass the laugh test.
This is a guy who wants to be the next president of the United States. He lives in his own carefully constructed reality and rejects evidence that doesn't fit his worldview, even when the rest of the world disagrees. Being so easily dismissive of evidence is not a trait you want in a man vying to become the most powerful leader in the world with his finger on the nuclear button.

it is fair....and yes, I think he's a loon too....it's a given I vote when necessary and it always leans right for fiscal purposes.....the religious thingy is out of control with that guy....it's beyond stupid as a selling point for the masses....
the bottom line.....I despise bs spin regardless of the format used to distribute....it doesn't have to be written that way....yields zero credibility from where I sit....
however, I'm not the average joe that votes and it's only my opinion....

RE: Ben Carson: Pyramids were built by Joseph to store grain
I'll have to study more on Ben Carson to see if he has any other weird views. The problems with people like Ben who would be so driven by his faith that he denies scientific facts in favor of religious beliefs that are not grounded in fact is...you find this in your classroom.

In the '90s, the GOP used to always say "character matters", and the Dems would say it's all about the issues. Today, we see Dems talking about how "beliefs matter" and you just said to ignore that and focus on the issues. I find that funny.

I said none of the sort. I like Carson as he seems like a nice, interesting guy, but I hope this takes him down a few notches politically as he is unqualified and Cruz will be the biggest beneficiary.

kinda makes one wonder what the world would be like today w/o 'idolatry' driving the bus of control....
maybe matter would matter....
or maybe not....
but it would be pretty damn cool to test drive that environment....
I'm betting that scenario will exist one day.....just not during our time....

Character =/= Beliefs
And what beliefs do the Dems have this time around? Or who among them has any character to be proud of?

No I find his beliefs quite laughable including how he wants to do away with medicare and believes that a $2000 gov't contribution to an HSA for every citizen will be enough to pay for the health needs of everyone.
If the good doctor will perform surgery for only $2K per patient then I will consider doing away with medicare, but I doubt that will fly with him.
The more that is learned about him the more his approval rating will tank just like Herman Cain
