Might be terrible at home but you're playing a really shaky Cajun team this week. Only advice I'd give you would be to score as many points during the first half as possible because it seems like finally get around to playing ball after the halftime show is completed.

RE: Arizona Bowl - good news
Anyone notice the four teams with the best chance for bowl eligibility in COOSA are Marshall, WKU, USM, and La Tech?

I also wouldn't say App is a shoe in the beat USA. Injuries are starting to mount and USA is a team that can match us on the lines.

I saw Blair go down (I think he went down against us last year as well..or was it 2013?), what's the word on him?

Blair is fine, defensive POW last week, although he gave everyone a scare last weekend vs. Troy. App has lost 7 players for the year so far (RT, 3 DEs, LB, DB, WR) with another OL and LB dinged up. We really miss the RT, DB, and one of the DEs.

Last year we had injuries to older players that led to pulling redshirts off players and led to our turnaround. This year we are a little deeper so I don't see that happening, but we are one if not two years away from being as deep as we need to be to sustain a similar number of injuries.

And the worst teams in the league are in San Antonio, El Paso, Charlotte, Denton (Might as well be a suburb of Dallas)

Yes, I noticed.

No kidding.

CUSA did themselves no favors in the last realignment while the SBC got the 2 best additions to the league since its founding and is about to bring in another quality add in Coastal.

I've said for a while that the only reason Louisiana should accept an invite to CUSA is to be conference mates with Rice, la tech, and USM. Other than that, the SBC is bringing in better Football members, has better Bowls, better Softball and better Baseball now with Coastal coming into the league.

As much as some like to complain about Benson, we are headed in the right direction.

Well for the second straight year they'll finish ahead of us. Basketball much stronger too. We need to beat them before saying the sbc will be better off. No doubt that utsa and Charlotte will be fine members just like coastal will eventually be.

If ULL would win an OOC game that would help.

I really hope we dont SEC ourselves. One or two minor upsets and it is only three teams. It is the G5 OOC where we really as a conf have to get better.

We're nipping at their heels. There could be a possibility of us finishing higher depending on what we do in the bowls IMO.

And no offense to UTSA and Charlotte, but why is there "no doubt" they will be good members? How do we know they won't just be like North Texas or UTEP or Buffalo or UAB and all the other "media market" teams with well-established traditions of not winning? Give me conference mates like Troy and App State and StAte (programs that have proven track records) over "media market" teams like UNCC and UTSA any day.

If you bowl, you'll be winning 4 straight. Win streaks tend to amp up enthusiasm.

Besides, playing in a bowl is exciting, especially for the first time.

And especially if you get there before nUTSAck.

As expected, the game will air on ASN and stream on Campus Insiders. http://americansportsnet.com/asn-campus-...zona-bowl/

I think it is easier to rally up fans and support for small town teams that can become the source of local pride. schools in large markets just have a lot of other stuff to compete with unless they are the flagship school of the state. utsa is more like a small market team because even tho s.a. is one of the largest cities in the country, there is little competition there for the local fan. people there are hungry for a team to get behind.

On what and what?

Exactly. This is not on ESPN or Fox or CBS or NBC. It will be televised on a regional ad hoc network and streamed on something called Campus Insiders. Not much of a bowl game. Hopefully the payout will be decent.

Lol at this coming from a Texas state and ulm fan. Y'all should be happy there's additional bowls. Plenty of teams would be happy to go to it.

Campus Insiders streams some Mountain West games. The bowl is affiliated with MWC. I'm sure their fans are familiar with the site. I've used it to watch Hawaii games.

In the markets where it is carried, the game will get higher ratings on ASN than it could have on CBS Sports or NBC Sports.

Why play the game at all? Every bowl game is nationally televised, most of them on ESPN. This is the only bowl game that is not nationally televised. Streaming on Campus Insiders? Is that a joke? It is the equivalent of watching a bowl game on ESPN3.

One of the great things about a bowl game is being televised on ESPN. It is a three hour infomercial for the school. It is great exposure for the football program. That is what UL, AState and USA got with their bowl appearances last season on ESPN. Playing a football game on Wednesday night in Tucson without TV is not appealing.
