Joe Lieberman did it in 2000, as did Joe Biden in 2008.
So again...3 wrongs make a right? I'm not endorsing any of the behavior. If they're Senators, they need to be there to vote. I don't care what party they're in!
So, again, by extension, that caused you to not vote for Gore/Lieberman, or Obama/Biden? I'm doubting you even considered it.
Again, he doesn't carry Rubio's water like he does the other guys.

Rubio never answered the question in the debate. Paul is going back to the Senate for filibustering and Rubio will still get paid for nothing.

Rubio was going to blame the media for asking the question.
It works in GOP debates. But that won't stop the press from asking. Calls will just get louder.
And while Rubio is playing the 'bash the media' game, the media will be asking the 'why aren't you working' questions.
The GOP will get their red meat from Rubio, but indpendents will see Rubio as lazy, job shirking, and entitled.
If I'm Rubio, I'd make sure I didn't miss any more votes.

I looked up some of the things the moderators were attacking him on and he just doesn't look very competent financially. Lots of sloppy stuff on campaign finances. I can't figure out why this guy thinks he's ready for the job. I guess since he doesn't have to show up now, he thinks political jobs are pretty easy.
Maybe he thinks he can get the votes of Romney's 47% since he's one of them.

I don't think Obama ever had a real job. He's been on the government dole since he graduated. Rubio did, but I guess he decided the private sector was too hard so he's looking for an easy job.

Most of the votes and debates on the floor of the seante are meaningless and a waste of taxpayer doller all the way around.
I certainly understand skipping out on a lot of the BS, but it leaves you open for this type of attack. And the attack, whether fair or not, is factual in and of itself.
Rubio is also taking some heat over his personal finances for not being successful enough and actually having foreclosures and so forth. I find these attacks a bit puzzling too, because everyone is always screaming that only the uber rich can be POTUS.
And here is a guy who, through a combination of common financial mistakes and generally not filling his pockets in the typical way Senators do, is much closer to middle class than most of the big names in Washington.
Yet now the charge is he has foreclosures and student loan issues, so thus he would be incapable of serving over an economy as POTUS.
So we are back to requiring an uber rich man because only he can understand and run an economy.

whether one likes it or not, the uber rich understand the game....
idealists are clueless in the eyes of the media....which translates to the voting public...
I would love to see mark cuban run in 2020....that would be a kick in arse.....hell, he could jump in right now and blow some minds....
he would make trump look like a pre-school reject....of course, that really isn't that hard (intellectually)
I got a feeling trump picked up the dixie cup direct line and told him he would give him a couple of bones if he stays on sideline....probably used the, "you're still young son" line.....

The hypocricy we're all having a good laugh about includes the fact that the media generally didn't make a big deal of it when it was Obama and Hillary, but you're right - will likely make a big deal about it for a Republican - particularly if it would appear as though he might win.......

Nope. It's called justifying bad behavior by pointing to other bad behavior.

Its just one series of another of bad financial decisions. He just "couldn't resist." Do we want someone like that in charge of a trillion $ budget? He put out bad info on his finances just a couple of weeks ago. His campaign finance has been mishandled (NYT article is just about the personal stuff). Its just basic stuff he can't seem to do right.

It is a cop out. If someone calls you out for not voting in Congress, then say why you didn't. Don't point the finger and say " well he did it too" that's infantile.

I can't speak for the liberals but I have no fear of Rubio for two reasons.
1. He's a minority and therefore will not get enough support from the republican base.
2. In a general election, democrats would run that pathetic gaff video of him drinking water on a constant loop.
