Wow. And the next highest rated CUSA team is rated 102 (ODU).

Auburn will be better than #162 as will ODU at #102. Illinois will be worse than #61... he has to start everyone somewhere I guess.
Plenty of room to improve.

I'd much rather be under rated than over rated.

I've need put too much credence into his ratings. Today, I read the "explanations" behind his ratings and I think even less of them. The core of his calculations is based upon a stat that the NCAA doesn't keep, meaning the whole basis of his formula is based on an estimate of what he perceives is likely (in his opinion) factual. He also factors in the amount of money a school has spent on it's basketball program for the last 5 years, as well as how returning players are perceived, yet makes now allowances for incoming players that should have an impact (freshman and transfers).
The fact that his rating has UAT rated #77 tells me a lot.

That's rough. Only 5 CUSA teams rated in the top 200 and only 1 in the top 100. Last year was a bad year and we had 7 in the top 200 and 3 in the top 100. Hope he's wrong.
#79 UAB
#102 ODU
#109 MTSU
#125 LT
#145 UTEP
#207 Rice
#218 WKU
#237 Marshall
#252 FAU
#257 FIU
#261 Charlotte
#289 UTSA
#302 UNT
#314 USM

Yeah, If they still had Tarrant I could see 77.

He has proven to be pretty accurate at the end of the season. As far selecting the 68 teams, that is. Preliminary rankings like this don't account for a lot of important factory like you said, Slant.

C-USA is rated 18th, or only three spots ahead of the Sun Belt.

Deservingly so, unfortunately. We only have 4-5 competitive teams. I will say I think we are trending up. I'd like to see 75% of our league sub 200 RPI.

That's been our issue for a while now. We need UAB, wku, and mtsu to take that step up into the top 100, and we need Charlotte, rice, and Marshall to find a way into the top 200. I don't have much hope for the other programs.

I hope ODU fans don't see this.

I think he was implying that ODU is already in the top 100.
