Good by Miami. Now go out and hire a stud that can lock down that south Floridan talent and bring back Miami to the glory it belongs at.

Miami has never had a long term coach there and as a matter of fact their major run in the 80's-00's was a patchwork of different coaches.

They need one guy, presumably someone with lots of connections to South Florida, that can carry the way for decades. But there's also the reality to to face that the secret is out about Florida talent and that there are more teams out there than their was for most of their historic run. They just are what they are.

Lets take Cincinnati, Memphis and Houston coaches off the market. If the Big 12 expands with those schools? Those coaches would get a pay raise.

Would Butch Davis get a look? Have to imagine that Greg Schiano, Rob Chudzinski, and Chuck Pagano will be mentioned as candidates.

Carroll was fired from two NFL head coaching jobs before being hired at USC.

Coaches from Power 5 programs I talked with are split: some say it's still a great job, others have concerns about admin support and infrastructure. Two agents told me tonight that all things considered, UCF might be a better job than Miami.
