Right, and I understand it would never happen. But, It is exactly what I want out of our head coach right now. If he had legitimate D1 experience coaching then I would almost certainly think he'd be at the top of the list. A lot of people wanted Kerry Coombs before.

As a disclaimer: this will never happen. But it is, essentially, the type of model that I want out of a head coach right now.

See Gerry Faust.

See Gerry Faust.
Hence the need for legit D1 experience. Faust was a big risk at the time despite his absurd high school coaching record.

Again, not likely, and I wouldn't support it. But the feeling Tuberville has left in my mouth after last night warrants some major change at the top.

Campbell will not be going to Purdue or Illinois. He saw how bad Beckman had it at Illinois. He's waiting for a job, but it's neither of those.

1. Young

5. Is undefeated as a P5 HC (after one interim bowl game at Florida 04-cheers)

Currently making $800,000. We could triple that with what we're paying now. What else do we know about him? Positives/negatives? Seems like an interesting prospect to me.

We know he'll be getting better job offers than Cincinnati 03-lmfao

Probably true. And it's definitely true he will be our coach for the next 2 years barring scandal or death.

Purdue and Illinois are in the west, not the East OSU, PSU, MSU, Michigan. Iowa is 7-0 in the West now. Maryland is in the East. Anybody can win the West.

Illinois hired Beckman from Toledo... Hard to see them drinking from that well again.

Look for Illinois to hire an older coach with experience... A retread.

Even if Campbell was Beckman's reason for success there...he was average before Campbell took over as OC and awful once he left.

Campbell is more than likely going to wait until completing his first contract and moving on if the job he is looking at opens up.

Good, they can hire Tubberville then.

We play this record after every loss. I think on the B side is the "fire Mick" song for playing after every basketball loss.

I was not singing "these boots are made for walking" on TT until this year. I was very much in his corner during year 1 and a little less for year 2. Seen enough in year 3. Besides, we've survived coaching changes after the previous three coaches left after year 3.

Put me on the Matt Campbell list. 35 years old and he has the Rockets on the up-and-up. I don't know what he's making at Toledo but offer him a good raise and our facilities compared to what he has now and who knows...

Yes, but the losses are starting to pile up. We have too much talent to be .500. Perhaps more concerning are the strange things that come with Tubs, such as waving the White flag against BYU and consistent poor play on special teams. We appeared to be thoroughly out-coached last night in the second half.

For all his faults, Mick has never had a season where he shot over par. He's done about as good as expected given his resources.

Tubbs in year 1 was a par (thanks to a weak schedule). Last year was a bogey and this year is already a double bogey. He's not trending in the right direction.

Yeah, I do like the Toledo coach, to put a name in for the thread.

The only surprise was Temple. Memphis should be top 15 now. Most thought a split with Hurricanes/BYU was reasonable. We are not playing Akron/Marshall OOC.
