Coaching Carousel?
As jobs open up the AAC coaches will be mentioned. Personally I hope all the AAC schools can keep the good coaches for as long as they are effective.

RE: Coaching Carousel?
Any AAC coach who takes the Maryland job is pretty much thinking they have luck-boxed their way to this point, and might as well make some money B10 money before they start losing.

RE: Coaching Carousel?
I would hope the real rising star coaches in this league are smart enough to not just take the first P5 job offered but one that you can actually win big at if they are going to leave. Maryland and Illinois are not jobs I would even consider taking. Miami if they fire Golden is one I'd take because that division is horrific and a good coach could easily win big there. If VT comes open same thing applies. Obviously if Texas comes open any coach in the country would have to listen.

I'd be shocked if any AAC coach pulls a boneheaded Edsall move.

Neither Illinois or Maryland are destination jobs. Edsall kind of did this to himself.

And for some of them they absolutely should. There are some that they'd be fools to take. Yes I realize money talks, but if you take a job at one of those schools you can't win at and then inevitably get fired in 3-5 years your career basically has to start over and you may never even get back to a job as good as the one you left.

Right. It's not always a no-brainer decision, as implied above.

RE: Coaching Carousel?
USC just opened up apparently. That's a good job. Sounds like it's right up a guy like Herman's Alley. He's going to Todd Graham his way out of UH for some P5 job. I guarantee it.

Now that could be a problem...

Honestly, Maryland needs a guy that recruits that area and Florida. Find the best G5 head coach or P5 assistant available with recruiting networks in those areas and that's your guy.

Kevin Sumlin mentioned USC years ago so I can see them calling him.

RE: Coaching Carousel?
Ok USC is a destination job and anyone would take it. Not sure they'd offer it to Herman or Fuente just because they probably think they can "do better" but obviously that's a job if either got offered they'd accept immediately.

I thought that Edsall might have a Tommy West moment at the presser. He probably wishes he did now.

Herman won't go to USC. USC has had two consecutive hires that have turned into absolute dumpster fires. They're going to need to choose a head coach with a longer track record of success. Plus, I hope Herman sticks around for a while. The AAC needs to retain its talented young coaches.
