RE: Sun Belt Power Rankings - Week 6
Does not matter who they have played or who is left on their schedule they are dominating their opponents. GS had the same issue last year and people discredited our record and the strength of our team. App is the best team in the SB. Have watched most of their games this season and I'm extremely impressed. That defense is awesome.

We scored 17 points and had 250 yards of offense in the first quarter against GaSt. That's when we started taking 8 minutes per drive and kept scoring touchdowns. We did whatever we wanted against GaSt defense.

RE: Sun Belt Power Rankings - Week 6
You could make a valid argument for App or GS at number 1, so I'm just gonna keep it 1A and 1B for now. Beyond that is tough but looking like it's shaking out a bit.

3) USA. Have an OOC win against a middle of the pack MWC school, and have looked decent in all games except for NCSU.
4) UL. Either Texas State is really bad (or at least had a bad game) or the Cajuns are having a conference turnaround. Hope it's the former.

5) ULM. Looked decent against Tulsa. We'll find a lot about them this weekend.
6) stAte. I don't know. Knighten comes back, they could be higher. This Tuesday will show a lot.
7) Troy. Hasn't looked horrible against a really tough schedule. I think they're better than this, but don't have the wins to put them above this yet.

8) Texas State. Really disappointing so far this year. Defense is really, really bad. But they're better than the bottom tier.

9) GSU. Looked really bad again this week. Offense didn't show up at all, but I think a lot of that credit goes to App's defense. Still better than the bottom two.
10) Idaho. They have a pretty decent offense, and a great punter. That's about all I can say.
11) NMSU. They've played a few bad teams closely, but once again, can't come up with a win.

+1 for not just phoning in homer thoughts. I'm ready for this game just so I don't have to hear people try and use transitive property and extrapolation to explain which is better this year.

There's another Sun Belt team that's dominating opponents, including a 26-point win over one of the better MAC teams while playing a backup QB. I'm not ready to say definitively who the best team is. Right now it's all guess work.

We will figure out a lot over the next two weeks. Arkansas State plays South Alabama this Tuesday and then Louisiana-Lafayette a week later, then Georgia Southern plays App State two days later. Basically the three most important games of the year in the Sun Belt.

Yes, bottom line is it will take two more weeks to know how good App is. Right now it is as if week one of the season hasn't started for App. Wyoming, odu and GaSt are bad FCS teams. Wyoming is 0-6 and lost soundly to EMU and North Dakota (not ndsu). Just bad, bad teams. And I feel confident going into Boone knowing Wyoming ran roughshod on the App D.

I just want both teams healthy going into the game. Last time we lost our star player McKinnon.

App is allowing 4 points per game in their four non-P5 games this year. Only a GS fan could think that is a bad defense lol

GREAT GS teams have struggled and lost in Boone. App will be sky high will defend their home turf. That place is tough to come out of victorious, especially in a rival game. You can throw both teams' records out the window.

Throw out 2013 and 2009 for GS and throw out 2004 for App... What has been the difference in this series more often than not is early turnovers and capitalizing on red zone trips. The team that is most successful in those two areas will win.

Combined record of those teams is 3-14 with close wins over Norfolk St, EMU and nmsu.

RE: Sun Belt Power Rankings - Week 6
Until someone knocks them off, Ga Southern (defending champs) has to be considered the top team in the SBC. While we have identical won/lost records, our 4 wins come against teams that have 3 wins collectively. The Eagles, at least, have a win against a decent Western Michigan team. Quite frankly, I'm not the least bit focused on our game on the 22nd. Our biggest obstacle ahead of us is getting out of Monroe with a win. They may be 1-4 but have played two ranked P5 teams and two G5 teams with winning records. We were lucky to beat them last year on a last minute FG.

RE: Sun Belt Power Rankings - Week 6
1. App that defense is pretty guy. In fact when we fire miles I want Cobb to hire him.
2. GS off this week so there's that. * dont play ULL or AState so you guys just have to beat App.
3. Astate injury concerns. Is knighten okay. Can't take away the fact that outside of the USC game you guys have looked the best. Out of three through 6.
4. USA they could have a chance to jump into the top three.
5. ULL peaking at right time or was it just the TXST defense. Still too many questions.
6. ULM I don't know what to make of this team. I think they could be good but I could see them just not beating the up guys.
7. Troy haven't seen this team play.
8. TXST I thought you were joking about the defense.
9. GSU the App game should have been uglier. The offense shat the bed. Surprisingly the defense did a solid job on cox. They just forgot about everyone else.
10. Idaho haven't see n much of you guys games either. It's more so a toss up between us and you. For now we get the edge cause a conference win is still a conference win.
11. NSMU a missed field goal is what is keeping this team this low. I think you would

We will learn more about Troy this weekend.

Troy had a horrible first half with Miss state but we made adjustments at half and we out scored Miss state 17-7 in 2nd half.

RE: Sun Belt Power Rankings - Week 6
I just watched the first half of the App vs Wyoming game. Wyoming should have been leading at the half, but had a pick 6 on a bad miscommunication and another botched snap on a 4th and 1 driving. Plus their RB was gashing the App D.

Ga Southern will beat App by 3 touchdowns. This impressive App start is schedule driven.

You won't even score 3 TDs. I'll make my game prediction after we take care of ULM.

Haha. The Wyoming RB was gashing App. He had over 200 yards. Ellison, Brieda, Ramsby, Fields will have a field day.

After watching that game I'm concerned App will have a loss coming into the GS game which will spoil the game.
