We can't help how other teams do until the day we play them. still looking for that credibility enhancing win in GS's resume that gives thier fans all this hubris.

Just a lot of App love out there after beating a schedule easier than Mercer, Furman and Wofford per Sagarin.

And you know what you just said is full of crap, right? That fact you are using Sagarin ratings to make your point? That Mercer, Furman, and Wofford (who lost to the Citadel and Idaho) would be better matchups? Put the crack pipe down.

Furman did beat UCF, but they are horrible like Wyoming, ODU and GaSt.

Just preparing ourselves for the rough and tumble SBC.

Sorry, made a mistake. I inadvertently left of the statistically padding 49-0 win by App over Howard, #243 of 253 per Sagarin.

The absolute worst thing that can happen for GS is App to lose next weekend.

Just giving an honest assessment based on watching the film. GS fans can watch the Wyoming game and see the talent difference. Will gladly eat crow if we lose, but I don't see it happening.

So why not watch any of our other games?

We're the 10th ranked rushing defense in the country, and fifth ranked defense overall. You're clearly welcome to make any prediction you want, but the entire season disputes everything you've said.

We lead the country in rushing yards despite not having a passing threat. I guess something will have to give.

I agree. I would much rather go into Boone the Underdog.

Idaho fans, is Linehan still available? How many members of your DL are out for the year? You guys seemed limited against stAte. If you can get most of them back, you are really in the same category as Texas St. and Troy.
Georgia St. looks like they don't want to play anymore.
NMSU just lost our starting QB for who knows how long. It was bad enough we had to burn a redshirt on our backup QB (who isn't ready). The play calling seems better, though.

I believe we'll at least get Linehan and starting NT Ryan Edwards back. Won't get starting safety Jordan Grabski -- he had surgery this week. As far as I know everyone else is still a question mark.

After playing some very tough teams, we're finally going to test my contention that Idaho is ready to win some shootouts with middle-of-the-pack and lower tier Sun Belt teams. The next 4 games on our schedule -- @Troy, ULM, @USA, @NMSU -- should teach us a lot about how far Idaho still has to go.

The board's going to be heated up no matter what happens next week. There is no other intraconference rivalry in the belt close to it.

You wanna use Sagarin? App is favored by almost 5 points over Southern using Sagarin Predictor, although we all know The Rock is worth more than 2.76 points.

Right now it is as if week one of the season hasn't started for App. Wyoming, odu and GaSt are bad FCS teams. Wyoming is 0-6 and lost soundly to EMU and North Dakota (not ndsu). Just bad, bad teams. And I feel confident going into Boone knowing Wyoming ran roughshod on the App D.

I just want both teams healthy going into the game. Last time we lost our star player McKinnon.

App is allowing 4 points per game in their four non-P5 games this year. Only a GS fan could think that is a bad defense lol

Combined record of those teams is 3-14 with close wins over Norfolk St, EMU and nmsu.

Haha none of Southern's last three opponents have beaten an FBS team and they gave up over 21 points per game to them. App and GS have both played some crappy teams but the difference is GS gives up 5x as many points on average.

Throw it all in the trash. Both App and GS will play hard against each other. as usual it will come down to turnovers and big plays -- and sometimes refs.

1)Georgia Southern - Defending champs with two solid wins.
2)Appalachian State - All wins against awful teams. SoCon schedule thus far would have been tougher. ULM game will tell us more.

Gap

3)Arkansas State - Down from previous seasons. Hard to rate games without Knighten.
4) UL - disastrous OOC. Thankfully the sbc schedule is here.
5) ULM - had a chance vs Tulsa but couldn't hold on.
6) USA
7) Tx St
8) Troy
11) the restYou

I don't know what will happen next week let alone two weeks from now, but I have no doubt that even if we should go to 7-1 there will be people who will say we haven't played anyone. We can't control how the teams we play perform. All we can do is play our schedule. And all I know is we looked a lot better against Clemson than others did, and they are a legit top 10 team, and beat the rest by a combined score of 166-16. It's not just what you do, but how you do it.

After a while, a trend develops. We can score points, and we can keep others from scoring. We won't get credit for next week or the week after... after all, ULM has only one win this year and it was against an FCS, and GS hasn't played anyone. That's fine. We will just keep playing ball and see what happens at the end of the season.

Neither of us have played an impressive schedule so far but the dominating win over Western Michigan is a solid win. They have played good teams close and just beat Central Michigan that also played P5 teams close as well as beating Northern Illinois.

App may be good, but the teams are they have beaten are much worse than the SoCon teams we played a few years ago so I don't think much can be learned from the wins so far.

A week and a half before we play and you're already blaming the refs. I sure hope there isn't a close call in our favor that helps determine the game. We'll have to listen to how yall got screwed for the next 5 years.

The replay system in FBS will hopefully correct wrong calls. Unfortunately there was no such system to correct some of the SoCon clowns.

App fans just need to look at the film and you will have a much clearer understanding of what is going to happen in Boone.

seen the tape, don't see anything we cant handle, one thing you guys better pray for is really bad weather, if we get a game where weather isn't a factor, good luck stopping both our passing and running game, where as, all we have to worry about is stopping the run, big advantage for App.
