Remember that time y'all were good in football or basketball? Neither do any of your players!

Name me one other undefeated team in the AAC or CUSA since it's inception?

Ok, I made my case.

YOGWF is. Rah Rah forum. Some great fans. However, gotula.net is much more realistic.

Mark my words, Tulane football, men's and women's basketball and baseball will all be one of the power houses of the AAC in a couple of years. Television exposure through the AAC and recruiting are taking Tulane to the next level. Looking forward next week to having our way with Houston!

03-lmfao dudes talking about a basketball W in a football thread...Tell us more about how Tulane is about to hire Tim Floyd, lol

That almost came true. I worked at UNO when Tim Floyd was there and bolted for Iowa St. Tulane and Tim Floyd came to an agreement, but our president wanted in the contract that he would resign if he had sanctions against him with the USC debacle. That is a true story.

Oh well.

The addition of Tulane was the tipping point that caused half the conference to leave.

The Catholic 7 were already negotiating. Pitt, Syracuse, BC and West Vir already left. The model was unsustainable. It was football vs basketball and 4 of the biggest players already left. If the Catholic 7 really felt that way then why did they ALL vote yes.

My son goes to Syracuse and they still count Georgetown as their major rival. They are trying to get a rivalry with Duke, but it's just not the same.

Guess that was Tulane's fault also.

Get over it and stop leaning on that as a crutch. The Big East was dead. Without the CUSA defectors y'all would have never gotten your payout and would be CUSA light.

No worries from me, I'm glad they are gone. Any fan that watched hybrid conference after hybrid conference fail is also glad they left.

I like being in a conference with Tulane. Great university, great city that provides a good road trip, and a fairly long term history with Memphis.

The only issue, and it's a very small one, is the small, weird band of posters that recently emerged that seem to want to dominate the face of Tulane in this forum.

Agreed. And pardon me for getting excited at times. However Tulane is my university. I can rake razzing like the next guy, but some of the comments are real. Everyone has skeletons.

Ditto with Memphis. I love your university and pull for them all the time!

I have the same issue, so it's not just people outside the Tulane fanbase who feel that way.

Come up with an article, ANY article, that states what I bolded. The one you posted in the Tulane game thread said nothing about your alleged truth.

But of course Syracuse, Pitt, WVA and BC all left because Tulane played in CUSA at the time.

That wasn't the point, read your question again. Now if you are talking about recent success then you are correct. Our last bowl game was 2 years ago. However, when was the last time you had success before your current coach? I'll tell you, Porter was 3-21 before he was let go.

As far as academic ranking - VERY PROUD! Isn't that why kids go to college. What kind of lame statement is that? Our academic ranking has nothing to do with our on field success, it's been the administrations lack of commitment.

Re-read my initial statement. I said none of your players remember the last time Tulane was good. That is a true statement. You answered with the remark about the undefeated season...which proved my point as it was in 1998. As far as Porter. Yep, worst coach Memphis has ever had. Still beat Tulane.
