Jillited lover syndrome, I suppose. Who freaking cares what UT does and how does that impact UC?

Couldn't tell you what UTs record is or who they play. I know they recruit their butts off, other than that, I got bubkus.

Not my circus, not my clowns.

Eh, the thread was started by a Memphis troll to rile us up about the Knoxville talking heads are talking about UC.

I'm not losing any sleep over any of it.

Missed that it was a Memphidiot. Just seems there has been about 3 threads on here for a month straight dealing with Butch in one way or the other. When Jones was here we used to have a thread each time ND lost. Guess it scratches an itch.

Nobody thought Tennessee would be undefeated, including their fans.

Also, no clue what this poster is talking about with the Cincinnati comment. I haven't heard a single Knoxville media member ever talk about Cincinnati one way or another.

Meh. Pretty sure OP made all that up.

Mac Crowder is a massive team cancer. My guess is he (Crowder) made the story up. He lost his starting position in the pre-season because he's an awful player and went on to try and get several other players to quit the team. He should have been kicked off the team as soon as that happened so Butch is somewhat to blame there.

Butch's problem is he is his own worst enemy. His loyalty to certain people is over the top. He replaced Bajakian without conducting a single interview for offensive coordinator. He hires a friend who has been completely out of coaching for about 5 years. And his loyalty to his high school type passing scheme is what is going to get him fired. I've never seen such a poorly designed passing scheme in all my years of following football.

It's really weird , I can say that much. Especially since they are on here 4 years later going on and on about what a horrible coach he is LOL

Makes sense now. They clearly have little man syndrome to be posting UT crap on a UC board. Sad thing is a lot of UC fans still obsess over the guy as well. Wont be surprised if UT hires T!ger High's coach away if Jones doesn't work out.

No Jilted lover syndrome here, but the Vols faithful has been melting down all over /CFB on reddit and it is very entertaining to watch. Especially after so many of them bought into the Jones Kool-Aid.

Realistically , what fan base wouldn't have after he brought in back to back Top 5 recruiting classes? They are now realizing he is his own worst enemy from a coaching standpoint.

We may obsess over former coaches a little too much, but Memphis fans absolutely have a terrible case of little man syndrome with UT. You think someone occasionally bringing up Ohio State is bad, but we've got nothing on them.

Memphis is just majorly overcompensating that they have a dumpster fire of a basketball program by getting super into football out of nowhere. They've built some really good teams the last couple years, but I have my doubts they will build a program, one that lasts through multiple coaches/staffs.

Their basketball program will eventually get rid of Pastner and get their crap together, and their football program will probably go back to the basement. That's my guess.

Rooting hard that they win 10 or more so Fuente leaves, lol. By far the worse little man complex in the AAC. Fuente is an Oklahoma guy, so he knows his way around the Big 12. Possible that Texas, S. Carolina, Tennessee,
Iowa State, Auburn, Texas, Maryland, Purdue, Arkansas could have openings. Illinois has a vacancy.

I wish Dantonio and Kelly nothing but the best, but not Butch. I didn't like him when he was here and I don't like him now. His failure amuses me, even though I know that's wrong.

Just curious, but why did you not like Butch but liked Dantonio? Dantonio was far worse than those two with the way he felt about UC, how much he would bad mouth the program, even while coaching here and desperately looking to jump for any job opening there was. Is it because Butch was the most recent one to leave and people actually forget about Dantonio?

I think it's very common to keep tabs on ex-players and coaches from one's favorite teams. If there's news about an ex-Bengal or ex-Red, for example, I'll often click on the story.

Most of them I wish well, but Dantonio and Butch are exceptions. I don't think either of them did us any favors. I give BK a pass though. His departure wasn't handled well but it's just about impossible to be completely honest and forthright these days in that situation. It's hard to fault an Irish Catholic guy (iirc) for taking what is still arguably the #1 college job in the country. And the progress and heights he took us to combined with what seems to be at least a modicum of ongoing respect and affection for UC make up for that to me.

Butch was always pleasant and enthusiastic, Dantonio was a sourpuss who always seemed ready to catch the first train out of town. Also, both Butch and BK let some of their assistants stay for the bowl game, while Dantonio flipped UC the bird and told all of them either come to MSU now or look for another job.

Dantonio, Kelly and Lyle were all mercenaries. BK turned down several offers before he went to ND for $5 Million a year... Lyle shopped himself to Purdue, Colorado and TN before taking their offer.

And LOL worrying about the other Coaches when some on here can NEVER ignore a Huggins thread.

If you remember one of the schools (Colorado?) thought Lyle had agreed to terms with them, then he went off and signed with TN.

What surprised me about the TN offer is their team said they knew if UC was going to run or pass before every play... and then they go and hire the guy?
