Boys played a respectable first half. Good for them. Defense is a surprise for not giving up the big play but Offense needs to change the game plan.

EMU offense didn't create explosive plays but managed clock well picking up first downs to shorten game. Nice to see a big play on defense by Dawson and MacLean.

Such a loser call to go for a 53 yard field goal down 27-14 when it's fourth and four. Reminds me of something English would have done.

So what if he makes it? Then we're still down two scores to LSU on the road. We are 45 point underdogs. There is no point in being conservative.

Just seems the percentage chance of picking up 4 yards in that situation vs. LSU isn't very high. I was a little surprised they attempted the field goal, but I don't fault the coaching decision to try it.

English would be down 50-0 right now. Mulder had the range. No problem with that call.

Looks like no Creel or Ibe tonight. Banged up? Nathan Adams seems to have filled in nicely at LB. I've heard he is a beast in the weight room.

It's higher than a 53-yard field goal from a non-professional kicker, and the reward (6 points) is worth substantially more.
