I prefer to call Memphis by their given name. ***** ****

T.iger H.igh.

wait wait wait wait.....T.iger H.igh is censored....that's the best thing I've ever seen 03-lmfao

Need I remind you that there are a fair good number of site wide rules that are here because of the Memphis board? They are a sensitive bunch.

It's the only board censor you can mess with on here and not get in moderation trouble, though I don't recommend doing it on the Memphis board.

Atlanta?

Atlanta metro 5.4 million

Houston metro 6.09 million

Sorry I'm a Statistics nerd

The metro area is large. The city...not so much. But you could probably still add the SBC cities in that total.

Metro is still part of the city!

If that's the case then Memphis is bigger than Atlanta.

No its not...lol. Research is not hard.

Sorry, but I gotta take up for my conference mates.

1. The Sensitive little kittens remain our biggest rivals. We're going to talk smack about them all we want, no matter if you like it or not.

2. The idea we'd only have 15K for a Thursday Night game against Cincy is laughable. We get more than that for games against SBC teams on Tuesday nights.

The butt hurt is strong in this thread. No matter how many times you call them Tiger High the fact is they are. Carnegie recognized national research university and two conferences ahead of you an on the cusp of the P5. That is the reality.

I only saw the crowd shot at the beginning of the game, but if they had 50k attendance, then their stadium must have a 100k capacity. Both endzones were empty, the upper level curve was half empty and there was a lot of bleacher shots on the main level.

(BTW, Just wanted to point out that in 7 home games last year in a new stadium Houston barely averaged a little over 28,000 a game)

We would still have the highest attendance in the Sun Belt by a wide margin.

Not by a wide margin

Yea, they would lol

Attendance was announced at 45,000+

I'll take that for a Thu night.

Mississippi game should sell out (59,000)

Glad to see Taco Bell gave you a night off. They need to support their local school! Kudos to them.

All kidding aside....yes, that was a very good crowd for a Thursday. You guys owe Krogers a big thank you for that.

Yes, that's good for a Thursday night game plus a win for the home team against a hated rival coached by the king of jerks, Tubby Tommerville. Sure is a lot of loathing or jealousy on this board towards Memphis. I do have my ideas.

Who cares. They are still always going to be Tiger High. It is their given name, and one they should embrace.

And I completely disagree on the 2 conferences ahead thing. They are in the AAC because they play in a large media market. We are in the SBC because we aren't That's the reality of conference realignment. G5 schools going "Ha our conference is better" is really quite silly.

You don't understand the history between Arkansas State and Memphis. We will always hate them. They are only slightly above the Razorbacks in our eyes.

This isn't about loathing because of a conference situation or whatever, we're happy with our situation. We just hate Mempjhis. (Keep in mind A LOT of AState fans work in Memphis, so we deal with them on an every day basis)

Just as an FYI, the Kroger thing is for our yearly non FBS game...MO State this season, APSU last season, TN-Martin the year before that...

That's it...And MIFA is a very good cause to team up with Kroger for.

The city ends when I start seeing cow pasture. Right now that is about 20 minutes from the Alabama line.
