Hamilton and McCree will probably be All-conference with Hamilton on the first team.
We will be decent this year probably on the same level as ODU last year

What! That was a compliment! Tech finishing the season with 5 or 6 losses in conference and 3rd or 4th in CUSA

Oh, I took it to mean you'd have a better RPI, go further in the NIT, lose fewer games and beat better opponents than you did last year when most are probably expecting a bit of a drop off.

No, I'm talking about taking a step back from cutting the nets down and winning CUSA by 2 games with a 15-3 record. Hopefully Tech can wins some road games and not get bounced in the quarterfinals of the CUSA tourney.

Lost all coaches, 3 of our starting 5, all but 1 recruit, and Xavian Stapleton. My expectations for the season are down.

I'd say that's an accurate write-up. If ODU can find a consistent low post threat to keep defenses honest, the sky's the limit.

Or figure out a way to finally beat Empty Sue, UAB and UTEP.

03-lmfao03-lmfao Well at least you're predictable. 03-lmfao03-lmfao

The BS flag has just been raised to the top of the flag pole on that one.

So you expect Tech to break into the Top 25 this season, be among the Last 4 Out in the discussion for an At Large NCAA bid, and if they don't make it into the NCAA Tournament - they will make it to NYC and be part of the NIT Final Four. Just asking since that is what you are implying with such a wild statement. Now going into last season had you made a statement that last year's Tech team could have achieved any of those things, I could have agreed that it was a reasonable possibility given what you had returning, but not this time! New coach, at least 3 major players gone ... too much of a stretch to make such a comparison at this time.

In the lone head to head match-up between the two teams last season, ODU beat them like a rented mule. In case you have forgotten, it got ugly fast (for LA Tech) and only got worse for them from there as the game went on. In sports terminology it was what they call a Beat Down.

Perhaps you are expecting this year's LA Tech team to be better than last year's team was? No one else is.

Before you come back with ... but, but, but ... ODU lost "X" number of games in conference, ODU finished "X" in the conference standings, etc. Yes, ODU wasn't perfect and they did indeed stumble a few times during the season. That said, it doesn't take away from their accomplishments as stated above.

To the vast majority of LA Tech's great fans, none of these comments are directed towards you. Just to this one misguided 'fan'. I am pulling for LA Tech (as well as the rest of CUSA) to have a great season resulting in multiple NCAA bids for the conference.

I don't expect Rice to be in anyone's top 150 prediction, but we got a lot of good young talent coming in and might be able to pull off some good upsets this year. Heck, last year practically every win was an upset!

It would not surprise me to see Rice finish the year with an RPI in the Top 150 this season. They improved as the season went along last year and I expect their starting point to be further along this season than it was last season. I know that Rice has been recruiting much better since the new coach arrived than they had in the past few years. Wouldn't surprise me to see you guys in the Top 4 of the conference standings in another year or two. Good luck.

I'll go a step further and say that I think Rice will get at least 4 wins vs those preseason top 5 teams (ODU/UAB/Tech/MTSU/UTEP) this year including the conf tourney games.
Sure, probably not a top tier regular season contender. But watch out for a CUSA tourney run. See you in the title game for our closest brush with the dance since 1970, if we're not on the UAB side of the draw.

Rice bball is definitely headed in the right direction. I think you may be a year ahead on your prognostication. Do you think they will draw more than 2,000 per game this year?
