Ohio State could beat NFL teams, no way NIU can compete with that.

Let's not start this BS again - as we all know - NO college team can even beat the worst team in the NFL

but...but...but...but....their quarterback...

kidding of course. Anyone with half a brain knows no college team could even compete with an NFL team. Still amazed that people make comments like that, but it happens!

The only people who believe that nonsense are people who are obsessed with college football. If these people took their blinders off during an NFL game, they would know how much more superior the NFL is at football.

Wait - I will agree the NFL talent is far superior. HOWEVER, I think college football is superior because of everything around the game. The fans are better, the traditions are better, the loyalty is better.

Thus I would argue College football is superior to the NFL

Mike Korcek who has probably more football knowledge than all of us combined thinks OSU could be competitive with the worst NFL teams

Historical knowledge yes, football knowledge, no.

You never answered my question last time.

If Ohio State played the Chicago Bears, what would you predict the final score to be?

Mike Korcek is a COLLEGE football writer. I think he falls into the "Blinder" category.

Hmmm I don't know something like Bears 42 Buckeyes 21

But the Bears are not the worst team in the league.

I'm not expecting to win, but I sure as hell believe that this game won't be like we were against Arkansas. Offense has much more weapons and our secondary is a little older. ( yes I know they haven't played the best yet but I expect them to be one of the bright spots at the end of the year. All have shown flashes last year. )

The Bears are not the worst team, but the fact that you think OSU would score 3 touchdowns on the Bears is hilarious. Do you have any idea the line domination the Bears would have both ways? It would be more similar to the first half of the Bears Super Bowl against the Patriots. OSU would have nothing going except maybe a few fluke plays.

But do you realize how many of these players are going to be in the NFL sooner than later on Ohio State its a ridiculous. Essentially it would be the baseball equivalent of a triple A team playing a major league team

I dunno. The worst team in the NFL not giving a sh!t about it, feeling downtrodden, not caring, etc -- in the middle of the horseshoe -- hey, the college-based US beat the Russians in hockey the Olympics in the 70s... and those Russians could beat NHL teams. And had a lot of brute force. Never say never. :)

Ugh. You don't get it.

Baseball is not a contact sport. Football is. OSU might have some NFL players, but it doesn't matter. It's grown men playing boys.

It's such a tough counter-agrument to make because the original claim is just so stupid it's hard to respond to. You either get it or you don't, and I guess you don't.

These posts make me laugh, an NFL team with the best players from all college teams would crush an OSU. Anyhow, I never think like this, but here is a good/fun question:

Would NIU be better off playing Drew Hare tomorrow, or Jay Cutler with being able to have one week to practice with the team? I would take HARE, not only do I think he would do a better job, but he doesn't look like he just watched The Boy in the Striped Pajamas......

Grown men get slower with age lol

I would take Hare even with Cutler having 2 weeks of practice. No question!

I think Maddawgz is trying to prepare himself for tomorrow. If NIU loses 65-0 he can keep chirping about how OSU could beat the Jaguars. If NIU wins or keeps it close he can clamor about how great NIU is at football.
