18,784 is the number i was given when asked actual attendance WITH season tickets adjusted to be included and students factored in... i went out of my way to ask the intern in will call who can show me the final numbers. To me, it seems like the university doesn't seem to care too much about accurate numbers... they're still getting the revenue from it. So NIU IS fudging the numbers... just the wrong way. They hit what i imagine is a "quota" for each game and just kinda stop worrying from there... needless to say this greatly pissed me off to hear, but again i dont know how accurate the kid's explanation is. I DO know the numbers he showed me on the screen were accurate though...

So basically just shy of 19k was our REAL attendance, which sounds much more accurate. I wonder who i or someone could go to about this without me risking my job...

That's just.............weird. I'm not sure whether to laugh or shake my head at the incompetence. How in the world is something like this allowed to go on?

And what is used as the "official" attendance number? This new number or what's already been published and printed.

18,700 sounds more accurate given what I saw on tv. Of course, the NIU haters on the other board will call you a liar.

I mean it was sort of a short term relief/long term shock for me personally

Any idiot could see we had a pretty damn decent crowd show up, no way it was 15k.

Rest of post redacted

Be careful with what you say. It is not cool to get someone fired or in trouble on a message board forum! Maybe that person does need to get better but they may have a family depending on them. Most everyone has a boss. I am sure they will take care of it. Also, you are throwing your boss under the bus by stating what he said!

This is perception, how does the department not care about perception. As Brad pointed out, this incompetence is allowing other fan bases, our own fan base, and future NIU fans to look at that figure and make an opinion on how ****** our support is. Now granted, roughly 3k more then reported is not earth shattering but it does look a lot better then 15k. IMO they should re-report the attendance numbers to have it corrected from a historical perspective.

If this is indeed the problem then it's not the scanner it's the black around the season tickets vs normal tickets.

Being a bit of a processes person I first wonder if they tested a few fake tickets of this style (before they ordered them) to make sure they would scan the same as the individual tickets.

True, my previous posts have been redacted. Anything quoted on me past or prior this point could have been adjusted by anyone quoting my post and is therefore not a direct quote from me personally. I have no idea where you all came up with these theories but I'd like to wildly speculate with you past this point.

I mean realistically, it's a part time college job i use for beer and pizza money... I'm not getting thrown outta my apartment or anything if i got canned haha maybe I'd get to actually watch the NIU games then! As long as nobody names me by name (which i dont think anyone here knows my real name?) I'm fine

It really pisses me off though that we get crapped on for bad attendance, and to put fuel on the fire our own Athletic Department screws up the scanning process and reports attendance well under actual.

Actually, it is worse that he actually tells us because it is just going to come back and bite him. I kind of like that he teases us about some things. It gets the board busy guessing and excited to see what the secret is.

Maybe that person does need to get better but they may have a family depending on them. Most everyone has a boss. I am sure they will take care of it. Also, you are throwing your boss under the bus by stating what he said!
True, my previous posts have been redacted. Anything quoted on me past or prior this point could have been adjusted by anyone quoting my post and is therefore not a direct quote from me personally. I have no idea where you all came up with these theories but I'd like to wildly speculate with you past this point.

Stay Cool you really need to stop saying you have a secret that you can't share, it leads to nothing good lol
Actually, it is worse that he actually tells us because it is just going to come back and bite him. I kind of like that he teases us about some things. It gets the board busy guessing and excited to see what the secret is.

btw, I noticed he didn't comment on my skybox comment on the upcoming secret. 03-shhhh
Nah, i actually realized i don't have my name or email or any of that on here so I'm actually pretty darn safe. I wont name my anyone's name nor my own so nothing can really be traced back to me. I didn't sign any non disclosure agreement so i cant be nailed for much of anything if they SOMEHOW did trace my name from a few message board posts
