Guitarists,
I'm probably parting with my high end PRS soon.
Question... I'm glancing around at some of the other guitars he makes and was wondering if anyone has any experience with the lower end models.
I'd like something in the interim, and will probably buy another "good" one in a couple years, but I was looking at the SE Tremonti online and was curious how it compares overall playability, tuning stability, pickup output, etc.

I've played a few and I thought they played and sounded very good for the money.

You have a PRS? I've loved them since the first time I picked one up. Incredible guitars.

Yeah. A 20th anniv (2005) Hollowbody I with Piezo (LR Baggs acoustic pickup under the bridge)
It's slick. Can switch from acoustic to electric (has two outputs) or you can blend the two together.
But I don't play live anymore and need some cashish.

The lower end PRS' feel different than what you are used to I'm sure but they are still good guitars for the money. Change out the nut and tuners and it'll be perfect.

That's what I was most worried about was the tuners.
With that in mind I definitely will be going with a fixed bridge.
I play electric with 11 gauge strings so the added tension should help I'd think.
The pickups should be hot enough.
What's different about the nut? (Keep your answers clean please)

I personally just prefer a bone nut to the plastic one they use in the less expensive models. Personal preference.

I think I'm probably going with the SE Custom 24.
It will more than suit me for a couple years while I get back in the black.
(divorce is expensive...)
They have a couple open box ones on musicians friend for around $550
