Yea, saw that one but other than some TC ramblings there is nothing specifically he said. I will search Fox13 archives as they usually have some good stuff on there. I just did not know if he had specifically addressed any areas / players etc..

JF is a straight shooter. If he states that the defense is probability ahead of the offense in the spring, then I believe him.

Defense is always easier to setup and play then offense. Offense takes time and timing and a ton of learning, unless you are just running it down peoples throats.

After all the years of the ball "never" bouncing our way, the football gods showed us some favor last year. We got more than our fair share. I see 2-3 loss regular season.

What crazy is we're sitting here hoping those 2-3 losses don't happen. We've come such a long way in such a short period of time.

12-0 Regular Season.
13-0 After Conference Champ Game.
14-0 After Access Bowl.

7 to 8 regular season wins would be a good year. Anything over that would be a great year.

Beat the Rebels and beat the Bearcats and we're in good shape.

YES that is the ticket these are the only two that we could possibly lose and that the OLE MISS Game and Bowling Green, OLE MISS is coming here, coming here. It will be a sell out for the Tigers.

Houston has a new coach, Tulane only has two featured backs, bowling green won the MAC they are a mystery? CINCY only has two players the QB and one receiver and NO DEFENSE.

at least 10 and 2, 9 and 3 maybe, nothing less.

Man, being good is fun!

As a Memphis fan still suffering from years of Battered Fan Syndrome, 6 wins and a bowl game is ALWAYS GREAT because of our years of suffering!!! 7 wins and I will call this a good follow up season to last year. 8-4 and we have a few options for bowl games. 9-3 means we had a GREAT ride and A LOT of fun this year. 10-2 means we probably played in the first ever AAC Championship game and will be headed to a bowl location we have never been to and on the radar big time for a possible Big 12 invite. 11-1 means we either went undefeated in AAC or we beat Ole Miss.....It would take me years to calm down from this season plus we should be ranked to end the regular season. The bad news is our coach could be gone after the season. 12-0 should put us in a major bowl game and we could be like the Jeffersons.......(Moving on up to a power conference). 13-0 (after the AAC Championship game) means my wife is planning my funeral because I lost all self control after the championship game and my body could not keep up!!!!


Until we can forget about the bad history of our program, I will say 7-5 this year and call it a good follow up to last year. However, the fan in me looks at the schedule and I think we could be 9-3 or 10-2.....with losses to Ole Miss, Cincy and maybe one unexpected loss.

I predicted 9-3 last year and this year I am going with ten wins.

I would like to go 1-0 every week.

Ten regular season wins seems more feasible now given the favorable news articles and JF's comments on the defense. Our offense should be outstanding barring injury to Lynch.

We won't make the playoffs. We will play one good team all year.

The Access Bowl and the playoffs are two different things. He's talking about the bowl berth reserved for the best G5 team, probably in the Peach Bowl this year. We would likely have to beat out Boise for it. That would be a lock, if we are undefeated.

I agree zero losses won't get us into the playoff, which invites the top 4 teams, period.

We could also lose to any of Cincy, Navy, Houston and Temple. Maybe even USF in Tampa. I'm not saying we will, only that those games aren't guaranteed wins, by any means.

And we could easily have a WTF game against several others.

I'm with you, lets just go 1-0 1st, the team was successful last year adopting that philosophy, lets do the same. But honestly, I've been praying for this season to be a spectacular one for the university, both football and basketball wise. But my reasoning is for the city and university. The university getting an invite to a P5 would do wonders for our self esteem.
