Absolutely no chance that this happens. You need a very good QB, among other things, to win a conference championship, and USF does not have one.

USF has the number 1 rated DT QB (Woulard) in the nation coming out of HS on their roster. Number 1. Unfortunately we do not know if he will play yet, pending his waiver request.

USF also has a QB who was rated the #8 DT QB coming out of HS (Flowers) and was a 4 star by some services.

USF has inexperienced QB's, but it's too early to say whether we don't have a good one or not.

Woof, Flowers was awful and Woulard is an absolute locker room cancer with a helicopter dad.

That's funny coming form a UCF fan, considering UCF offered Woulard a scholarship.

As much as I hate to say it, I'm waiting for USF to wake up. They've been recruiting better than anyone else in the AAC (up until Houston this year), it should pay dividends eventually.

I think that when we do, we both get the Louisville treatment and are gone shortly there after.

I'd like to see the conference make it into the big boy club but, it's a very long shot.

Flowers has only played a handful of plays (with most of those being in a game after his brother died). There were no reports that Woulard was a "cancer". Please post if you have them.

Calling bullsh!t....

That would seem implausible since Woulard's dad remained in Florida during his two years at UCLA. The kid would have stuck at USF if not for the uncertainty surrounding Skip Holtz's tenure at USF.

From all reports AW was a model citizen and teammate at UCLA and was stuck behind a Heisman hopeful and future NFL draft pick.

He will get a chance to show what he can do at USF.

Yep, you're right. Only UCF and Cincy earned the right to brag last season. We just got lucky last season. It isn't 'so many miles'. One person says something and the ECU/Houston folks are on here reminding us that we don't have the right to brag. Of course, in CUSA they were the folks telling us not to talk about basketball since CUSA was a 'football conference'. Yeah, we are enjoying being conference champions and don't appreciate being told to know our place. The team EARNED that championship spot last season and EARNED the top 25 ranking. Memphis fans get to be proud of that and talk just as much s*** as the rest of the conference .

I don't think you got lucky...I think Memphis had a legit good team last year. That isn't what I'm saying. The funny part is the attitude of some Memphis posters in here that the program has 'arrived' after ONE good year in FOREVER. That's what I think is funny....and misplaced.

This. I don't see UCF or UC fans beating their chests over 2014 as if they were banner years in either programs history. UCF had a let down over a historically amazing 2013 year, and Cincy struggled more than they wanted to. But Memphis, one co-conference championship and they've apparently arrived, and the last 3 decades are distant history.

I'm sure that was said of us last year.
Nah, Memphis had been showing signs of life for a couple years. Even I saw that. I have some posts on here from a couple years ago stating that UM was on the upswing.

Who is acting like we've arrived? I'm defending my program...which is ridiculous because I shouldn't have to. Yes, UCF fan, Memphis has had some seriously rough patches in the past 30 years. The also played some pretty murderous schedules in the 80s and 90s as well and won some pretty damned big games. Let's not act like Memphis sucked for 30 years straight and then had one good season. Oh, to give you an idea of what Memphis had to go through as an independent which UCF never did...our 1989 schedule included- Mississippi, Mississippi St, Florida, Florida St, and Alabama. In 87 our first five games were Ole Miss, Vandy, Florida St, Miss St, and Alabama. It eased off a bit in 93 with only Mississippi St, Ole Miss, Arkansas, and Miami. However, we played at least 4 P5 opponents every year until 2000. Most of them were on the road. We also beat Bama, Southern Cal, Florida, Arkansas (x3), Mississippi (multiple times), Miss St(multiple times), Vandy (multiple times), Missouri, Tennessee...had there been as many bowls then as there are now we would still have had multiple bowl trips in the 80s and 90s. The problem has come that when we have bad seasons they are very bad. When Memphis has a losing season it usually isn't 4-7. It's usually 1-10.

I don't claim Memphis has arrived. I will tell you, though, that about 4 years ago the powers that be at Memphis began to take football as seriously as basketball. You see what kind of season Memphis had three years later.

Well in the last 30 years, UCF has had to play some tough opponents too. Plus we went through D-III, D-II, I-AA(FCS), I-A(FBS Independent), and I-A in MAC, CUSA, and now AAC.

Ugh and having to play off campus in the Citrus Dump.... oh the humanity.

Don't sweat it. At least we have history unlike some Florida schools.

Talking smack about a team because it literally did not exist as long as yours is about the dumbest type of smack talk you can make. Especially when that program has been far more competitive over the past decade.
