They have the AAC as the next to the worst G5 conference (barely edging out the Sunbelt). They have Navy as our highest ranked team. Cinci at #45 and Memphis at #48 are the next two highest. Almost half of the league is ranked over 100 (UConn, SMU, Tulane, USF, and Tulsa). Houston and Temple are ranked in the 80's. ECU is at #71. UCF is at #67 (ranked worse than MTSU, Ball State, Appy St, and Rice---among other G5's). The countdown is currently at #42 and Navy hasn't been ranked yet. The countdown seems to believe the AAC will be terrible. LaTech is the highest ranked G5 named so far at #42 (but there are several G5's who have yet to have their name called). Based on the number of unnamed G5 schools yet to be named in the G5 conferences, the countdown appears to be headed towards predicting the MAC or CUSA as the highest rated G5 conference. The AAC could maybe finish last if Georgia Southern finishes way higher than Navy in the countdown---but GS would probably have to finish in the top 5 to push us into last. The countdown writer should stay away from Vegas this year. We are going to make his countdown look ridiculous. .

I look for us to be slightly better as a conference than last year. Cincy, Houston, SMU, Tulsa, Tulane, and USF will be slightly better. Memphis, UCF, and ECU will be slightly to much worse.

I can't see those three being much worse

Marshall has some talent no doubt, culled right out of the Star Wars bar scene. But Cato ain't coming back and the old saying, "An army of sheep led by a lion is to be feared more than an army of lions led by a sheep", comes to mind. They don't have a proven QB. Cato pulled their bacon out of the fire quite often and against less than the most stellar opposition. Don't see that superb level of play from the next guy.

RE: Massey Composite - Updated
lol....The Orlando Sentinel College Football Countdown is at #39 and has named Navy as the top AAC team. At #39, it is also the lowest ranked predicted champ from any G5 conference. Depending on where Georgia Southern finishes in the countdown, the AAC could be the lowest overall ranked FBS conference in the countdown (which obviously make us the lowest ranked G5 conference per the Sentinal preseason projection). We are already ranked behind every other G5 conference. This countdown is comedy gold. They should post this countdown in every AAC locker room.

Our defense will be younger but that doesn't mean worse, just younger. We return a ton of firepower on offense and should actually be even better. Memphis will be as good or better than last season.

Link? I must be missing something because I don't even see the Massey Composite being discussed on our board.

Thanks, yeah that thread didn't see much of a shelf life. Two or three put more faith in the Orlando Rankings. So be it; to each their own. I've never put much faith in any of them as far as UTSA is concerned because all of 'em have been way off in their assessment of us every year.

So, you cared enough to be over here defending CUSA, but you didn't care enough to look on Page 2 of your own board?

Which also means it was on Page 1 not long ago, lol.

The fact that this has like 20 posts, and the OS thread has 14 pages is all that needs to be said

Who's defending? I was just curious where it was. Multi-tasking right now and didn't think to look at page 2. I honestly don't even remember seeing it when it was on page 1. Sometimes you just miss stuff. No crime in asking, right?

Seems like it's Boise State vs. the AAC field for the "Access Bowl" bid.

Somebody's been posting the Orlando Sentinel rankings on our board too - my theory is that schools are being randomly picked out of a bag. That's the only explanation.
