I guess he paid attention how well that was working for Marshall. Cause had they gone undefeated, they were not playing on New Year's Day, they were barely in the top 25, however, that would be new for the SBC.

It just drives more wedge between the P and the G conferences. This guy seems to have no confidence or vision for teams or the conference. Boise St made it playing P5 schools, Utah made it playing P5 schools.....

Not exactly, Boise State made it by beating 1 P5 school a year during the regular season followed by a much easier G5 slate. The only times since 2002 that they had more than 1 P5 game in the regular season was 2 in 2005 and 2 in 2010.

This is true.

But they killed their G5 competition. They were rolling from day one.

RE: SBC Media Days
Learned a lot today, met a lot of great folks over the past two days. Great opportunity to network with other folks in the media/AD/college athletic world.

Biggest take home message I had again, second year in a row .... for all the "buzz" about the supposed Atlanta media market I saw zero news/internet presence at media days and was somewhat surprised that Cobb didn't attend.

I know that they probably were all tapped out from the ESPY's travel, but it would seem that a team/program that is really needing some breakthrough attendance marks would be doing everything possible to rally up some support for this season.

Maybe next year, but I figure Miles has to make light of what is a very tenuous situation for him if they don't win early.

Miles knows another bad season could really hurt that program, and be the end of his employment at the school.

If you listen to the natives, their demands are bordering on the unrealistic for the condition of their program.

Not even a full recruiting cycle. And when he walked in the cupboard wasn't even halfway stocked.

Good luck finding a coach worth a damn if you cut Miles loose. No one will want to take the risk with only 3 years to extinguish that dumpster fire.

so the message I got from that video is that the conference will focus on adding an eastern school and that benson has not seen the football schedule for this year as he sees a potential 12-0 finish for somebody.

Any surprises or interesting takes from your coaches' interviews?

After listening to Coach Satt I was encouraged to hear that this is stronger overall the team has been at his time at App (since 1991 in some capacity). All lineman can bench 400 and squat 500, that may be the norm for some programs I'm sure.

I remember back in 2012(1st fbs year) Fran talked about how when he first got here maybe 10 or so players could bench 400 and squat 600 but by the next year almost half the team was at that level. Hopefully that's continued to improve.

Now our incoming freshman can squat 600 lbs and bench 400 lol how quickly things change.

Sounds like he may be reading that here.

I'm hearing this from internal sources as well. EKU a second choice if things come together for coastal. Too much around this pick to think there is nothing to it. Eastern has got to get attendance up. Coastal outdraws them and they are a new program that has an outstanding Olympic resume. Hearing about a bowl game in SC as well FWIW.

A bowl game in Charleston or Myrtle Beach would be great destinations imho. But it still seems to me that Coastal has a lot of work to get there.

Posted from my mobile device using the CSNbbs App

Charleston scares me. I was stationed at Charleston AFB and that was the most amazing time of my adult life. If USA plays there I may never come back to Mobile.
