I think, in the event that there's some sort of crash, that people should be mad at the President who turned a surplus into a massive deficit through an elective war and tax cuts we couldn't afford, then cratered the economy due to lax regulation, leaving the subsequent President little choice but to spend Trillions to keep the economy afloat.

there are so many talking points that apply....from the war on drugs to the war on ragheads

the way this country spends money and continues to stay afloat has been a monumental achievement over the last ~40 years.....

The economy cratered because the Dems in congress forced banks to make bad loans to minorities.

Ah I think Raygun should be blamed too. I guess I didn't realize we had surpluses when Carter was in office. 05-stirthepot

Now modify the lie part of the sentence and you get a truth: The economy cratered because the Dems in Congress threw a ton of federal money at subprime mortgages, some of which even had a pick-your-rate feature that meant the homeowner could purchase a loan that would never mature.

Yeah but they needed to find a way to blame minorities so it can fit into their narrative of "minorities are the problem with this country".

I don't know anyone that has said minorities caused the problem.

I do know someone that doesn't want any more worthless bastards in this country.

I suppose there weren't a lot of whites that got the same mortgages? You know damn well there is enough blame to go around including the greedy banker types(they guys you on the right get a hard-on for).

Look..lets call Schiff out for what he is..

Some guy with 'gold bug' turrets. His target market are the paranoid, who will forget that he stays with the same hypothesis regardless of the facts, and is frequently wrong. His investment advice, if taken, would have been catastrophic.

How much of his own money does he have in Gold? How much has he had over the last 6 years? He also has been a huge supporter of the Ruble.

I've always been in favor of Puerto Rico becoming a state. Maybe its time to strong arm them into it.

He advocates 10% of a diversified portfolio be in gold/precious metals, which is widely accepted in portfolio management.

Just because the board's resident libs are too poor to even think about possessing such an asset class doesn't make Schiff a "nut job".

Yes he is. I warned about him a couple of years ago during the height of the gold fever fiasco. Many People lost their life savings due to this carnival barker. Go find the thread.

BTW. I have a system that makes money off the asset class. Gold would never be in my portfolio because I can do a heck of a lot better than it. It would tie up money that could be off doing better things.

You are right. But the primary goal of congress was to increase home ownership for minorities, whether they could afford the loans or not.

The heavy hand of government distorted the market. Whenever economic laws are tweaked by government to achieve a political purpose, bad stuff happens.

Thanks for wasting 10 minutes of my time. You obviously didn't watch that video, as it contained nothing relevant nor supported anything you've been claiming.

I bet you thought the "30k" in the tagline was related to a gold forecast. In actuality, it was how many Youtube subscribers he had surpassed at the time. The 50k tagline related to how many subscribers he wanted to hit. You're just Googling "Schiff 50,000" and spamming anything you find at this point. Just admit you were talking out of your ass by a factor of 10x.

Tell me more about all the money you made 2007-2009.

I agree with you that gold "stackers" (those that put every discretionary dollar into gold/silver) are idiots, and are certain to underperform; but you are painting Schiff with that brush, and I don't think it applies. Not at all.

With that said, if you're arrogant enough to think you can predict markets to the extent that you completely disregard an asset class that outperforms others in particular market conditions, there is no talking to you.

Wait. We should bring them in as a state so they can file for bankruptcy? Great idea! Wish I would have thought of that. 01-wingedeagle
