Jerking chains again, huh?
You might check out Jax State's record vs EKU, we are even since you joined the OVC. But, I agree it's pathetic that we don't own you, we should.
I'll put our athletic programs and history up against Jax States everyday and on Sunday. We have won the Commissioners Cup ( all sports trophy more than anyone in the OVC and the last 3 out of 4 years). Tell us about your basketball team and that gym you play in. Yes, our football attendance was bad last year. One home game where it was fall break for the university and the public schools. And another game that was pitiful we had a driving monsoon in 20 degree weather, I never miss a game, but I skipped that one, add that to know one cares about the OVC teams, and it sucks. You are saying JSU is a better choice. I don't see it.

Or... we do want a good football team with great attendance.

Lex, you say your attendance was bad last season because of a monsoon game. What was your attendance the year prior??? What about the year before that???
These are actually honest questions that I don't know the answer too, however, EKU can stay in the OVC in my opinion.

I was able to attend the vision presentation last week at EKU and here is what I was able to gather from President Benson's remarks and follow-up conversations:
East side construction is obviously underway and will be complete before 2016 season. Features new seating, football operations center, club space, and possibly some suites.
West side and south endzone will be next and will replace what we currently have. In addition to seating, will include new press area, additional club, and suites. Total capacity is expected to be around 18,000 seats and 20,000 total with grassy hill area.
Obviously concessions and restrooms will be new throughout. Would love to see a team store inside.
The hope is that all can be complete for 2017 season, but no later than 2018. Would love to open this all-new stadium with SBC opponents!

I'll grant you that the artist renderings are nice, but will it increase your attendance once it is complete??? And if the goal was FBS, I would think they would be looking at 25k capacity, not 18-20k.

Nice renderings of stadium and most new stadiums are capable of future expansion if needed. We made that mistake already with the current stadium. When you say football operations center, what does that involve?

So is it 18-20k with the grass hill for overflow?
Or is the hill included in the twenty thousand or higher number.

You have to understand that if the program grows then those stadiums with the grass hills or other "extra" areas like that can hold a lot of people. Take GS, before our expansion we still were able to pack 20-23k people in an 18k stadium.

I'll add onto the "what's this got to do with Georgia Southern" post: We can get over 30,000 in ours, and have on several occasions. Still, I don't like charging the same price for a grass "seat", as we have done in the past.

I think the stadium looks great and will be plenty big enough.
I wish Coastal would show the plans to get their stadium to twenty thousand.
I remember them mentioning it being built with an easy expansion to twenty thousand planned. I am not sure if that included the 1200 end zone seats connected to the FOC. They never released any drawings to the public as far as I know.
Now that Myrtle Beach can host bowl games if expanded they will have one.
