AAC programs find other ways to make money outside of TV contracts. Merchandising, ticket sales, donations, etc. all play a factor.

You forget the BE exit fees and NCAA credit slush fund that UC, UCONN and USF get to tap each year.

The BE is paying for all this. Preesh Catholic schools.

Not sure where that number comes from. Memphis attributed @ that much (close to 2.7) to conference change alone. They made SOME money in CUSA (probably over $2M based on UAB numbers that have surfaced during their struggle). Memphis COA is $5373 IIRC.

I believe our administration is taking every step necessary to show the Big 12 and ACC we are committed to competing and spending at the highest level. COA, paying Tuberville and Cronin P5 money, the Fifth Third Arena and Nippert Stadium overhauls... all part of the plan. Not really much else UC can do except push for sellouts 100% of the time and try to win more championships.

The University of Cincinnati has a billion dollar budget and an endowment around 1.2 billion dollars. While athletic revenue is rather average the entire profile is impressive. People seem to forget that these are billion dollar institutions.

UC finds the COA costs in the couch cushions from the BE payouts. Not a big deal for 5 years.

I haven't forgotten....a completely understand. However, longterm this athletic arms race against schools that take in $30-$40-million/ year on TV alone versus schools that take in less than $3-million/year in TV money doesn't bode well. The money we received from the BE is not going to last forever and I don't see our TV dollars even remotely clawing the gap anytime soon, although we will see further increased cost as P5 schools up the ante in expenses and we try to keep up. We are seeing it already....

USF, I think is at 4,298 dollars per year. So we aren't nearly that high. My guess is the added funds are for Rolaids or Pepto Bismol. Got to have that stuff after eating at a Sky-Line restraunt.
