Just visited the website.... enough to make a person puke with all the cheer leading on there. Even has an "Attacks" tab to inform koolaid drinkers drinker about opposition.

Oh, and had to click the Medicaid link, but it looks like the actual number in 14.249 million, not 14.0. Medicaid will greatly outnumber enrollment in paid and subsidized plans before long. This isva problem

200, what state do you live in? I know you are a shrimper, are you in NC?

Yep

So now I'm confused. You said that when you visited the exchange because you income at the time was so low they said you should sign up for Medicaid but you didn't want to do it. How would Medicaid have been an option for you?

That was a question i never got a satisfactory answer to. Im not going to disclose my 2013 or 2014 income here, but you should be able to reasonably guesstimate knowing the fpl and what i presumed were the medicaid guidelines. My 2013 income came from 4 different sources, while 2014 from only two with commercial commercial revenues being one. What i was told over the phone from a blue cross agent out of charlotte was that my income wasn't sufficient to qualify for exchange health plans and that the more appropriate choice would be Medicaid since my opportunity for additional income was pretty much non-existent once commercial fishing seasons ended. (Mind you I'm not running a 90 ft offshore trawler, i operate in the sounds and rivers.) Now i was able to use the exchange website to gather information and 'select' a plan, but purchase options were unavailable and i had to call the office number they game me. I think if i remember correctly my plan choices included a subsidized silver plan with a $3500 or $5000 deductible, but the monthly premiums still exceeded disposable income at the time of selection. ( i saved the page and printed it but id have to do it out to confirm)

I had my income shrink by 70% in 2013 and in 2014 it had fallen to about 15% of 2012 and prior year. To say I was flat broke would be an understatement, example being i didn't use heat or a/c to save on electric bills.
My 2015 income is on pace to exceed 2012 easily, and i was worried about having to repay subsidies on subsidized plans, yet during enrollment i hadn't cleared a dime.

The gist of the answer was that my future income couldn't be accurately predicted at the time, and my previous couple years incomes were too varied to accurately forecast from. I didn't exactly have confidence in what the agent was telling me, but i knew damn well i wasn't going to let my name end up on a Medicaid roll if i could help it.

Long story short is the process is a hindrance to anybody that doesn't have a nice and tidy w-2. I jus happened to be going through a bad time financially during enrollments and i don't believe the agent had the right answers at the time, so now i sit with plenty of money but no way to forfiet any of it for obe of these govt approved plans now that they have control over the entire system.

But Medicaid isn't available to young healthy males in North Carolina.

That's what the BCBS agent from Charlotte recommended and like i said, i didnt have a lot of confidence in him.

He may have been confusing my eligibility since my income was below the fpl and i was therefore didnt qualify for subsidies. Either way it meant i couldnt buy insurance.

It certainly sounds like he didn't know what he was talking about. About the only males that would qualify for Medicaid in NC would be the blind or otherwise disabled. If NC adopted Medicaid expansion it would open up to low income males in a situation like you found yourself in. But that isn't going to happen anytime soon.

When are you going to post numbers for how many of those are crap policies, essentially worthless, and how many of them actually provide access to real health CARE?

If I'm not mistaken about 68% buy Silver Plans. Those certainly aren't crap policies. Bronze policies could probably be classified as crap policies.

I don't post it unless there has been a change in the number. The estimated numbers will change a lot more often than the confirmed numbers.

So anytime someone farts and causes a change in an estimate you feel the need to post?

Also, if you want to be truthful, you need to change the word "confirmed." Unless the number is audited, they are not confirmed. So the titles to your numbers should be:

Number we want you to believe but a wont pass an audit - Exchange QHPs: 12,024,658 as of 7/03/15

Number pulled out of someone's ass: 12.80M (9.71M via HCgov) as of 7/03/15

Number pulled of someone's ass ACA-Enabled Policy Enrollment: 32.7M

If you have a problem with the numbers go to the website and take it up with the guy that is providing them. His name is Charles Gaba. He seems to respond to posts on his site pretty quickly and I'm sure he would love to hear from you and be glad to explain his calculations. Here is the link. http://acasignups.net/

You going to post this **** every 4 days? Did you even bother to read it and notice it's the same as last time you posted except for the estimated number?

No, I mainly post the updates these days to piss you and Ham off.COGS
If you have a problem with the numbers go to the website and take it up with the guy that is providing them. His name is Charles Gaba. He seems to respond to posts on his site pretty quickly and I'm sure he would love to hear from you and be glad to explain his calculations. Here is the link. http://acasignups.net/

Why do I need to take them up with him? He aint posting here. I'll just take it up with any Gruber-dumb*** who tries to manipulate the public into thinking any of these numbers are confirmed, real, or otherwise meaningful.

Living under Oblundershit does that to people. You're not angry because you are covered by a grandfathered plan, which is also the reason you are so disillusioned.

My good friend that didn't have coverage for the 20 years prior to the ACA because of a pre-existing condition would disagree with you. So would my wife's cousin that hates Obama but is singing a different tune now that his wife has a tax credit exchange policy that they can afford. She went a couple of years without coverage because they just couldn't afford to add her to his employer provided policy. They went to the exchange a year late because they thought the Democrats were the devils and refused to listen to anyone. And there is also the husband of a co-worker. She couldn't afford to add him to her employer policy because it would run $600 a month. He went on the exchange and got a platinum policy, much better than the employer policy, for under $400 an month with the tax credit. His health issues are extensive and they probably would have lost their home if he had been uninsured the last couple of years.

Some people are better off. Some people are worse off. So far, it's a zero-sum game. The issue will be whether it can remain a zero-sum game once IPAB and HCC and CCO are fully operational.

Those worse off tend to be high income young males. They wouldn't qualify for a tax credit and are paying higher premiums now. Of course high income young females are paying less. Also high income young males may or may not continue to be high income and they will not remain young that long. The difference between the extra spending on insurance say from 25 to 40 and the reduced cost of the insurance from 41-64 might be interesting to look at.

Its not nor ever will be a zero sum game.

Some people are better off. More people are worse off. That is not zero sum.

You can never have government make a change, inject itself, and have a result of zero sum. More people wlil always be worse off.
