Another good consequence of SC decision
On CNBC, a commentator said that SC's decision on the Confederate Flag could very well result in a major economic bounce for business in the state.

He noted that SC has had a very favorable economic climate and this has resulted in many businesses already relocating to SC. But he said that in the past, some business leaders told him that they were reluctant to move to SC because of the flag issue.

Now that issue is gone, expect a boom in growth.

Wasn't the only economic boycot against the state due to the flag coming from the NCAA?

I don't think this is going to cause a significant increase. SC already is winning a ton of companies over NC and Charlotte. I don't think the flag was keeping many businesses away

Well, SC has an economic policy of bend over and give companies anything they ask for to move there.

We used to have one of those in NC too, but the new legislature killed it and don't have a plan to replace it, so we've struggled to land new business since we ran out of economic development funds. Still lots of organic job growth here, just no major relocations like we had in the past.

Lindsey Graham made mention of this as well. In a few years, SC will be glad they did it.

Another good consequence of SC decision
According to Gov Haley, the flag on the Confederate Memorial has never been an issue with any prospective company moving to SC.

That's why I said in some other thead that I always take anything a politician says with a grain of salt. Haley has her eyes on a national office someday, so she's just pandering. It's all politics.

That's why I said in some other thead that I always take anything a politician says with a grain of salt. Haley has her eyes on a national office someday, so she's just pandering. It's all politics.

She must be running for VP or President because she's likely committed career suicide in South Carolina. All she needs to do is send a search party and see if they can find former Governor David Beasley. He was far more popular than Haley in-state before he ram-rodded the existing compromise on the flag and his political career ended when he term-limited out of the Governor's office.

Haley's home House district is held by Joe Wilson and she ain't beating Joe. I had thought she might go after Lindsey's Senate seat but she probably ended the chances of that, and she ain't beating Tim Scott. She's pretty much alienated herself from a large portion of her electoral base in SC so she'll have to run for one of the top two spots.

Doubt the flag was a hindering economic growth in SC. This teams of a commentator fitting his data to the theory instead of thw other way around

Cost Roy Barnes his job but Georgia is glad that it did.

The Olympics were coming, there was no way Georgia was going to be able to deal with that on a national, let alone international level.
