Don't know if anyone else has posted this yet, don't care. This is what this forum is turning into lately so now I am taking my shot at stirring things up.
Quote:The first thought: this is a giant middle finger to the SEC.
He said it, not me. Why would he say this? That is what I am going to dive into.
Quote:The early period has been an ongoing and divisive issue for years. Paper or plastic? Gee, which environmentally unfriendly packaging do you feel less guilty about?
Previously, no consensus could be reached. It's not altogether clear if there is one now. But pretty much the only league with such strident opposition is the Southeastern Conference.
Too bad, SEC. The early period -- Dec. 16 this year -- relieves pressure on the system. It allows students to be students, instead of pawns in the Recruiting Machine.
Wow, who would have thought that Dennis Dodd, employee of CBS, would come this hard in the direction of the SEC. I mean, according to the general consensus around here, companies and their employees do not go after their business partners. For the ignorant out there, CBS actually has the Tier 1 rights to the SEC, not ESPN.
Yet here we are, the most well known writer for CBS taking a major shot at the SEC.
Most of you are probably asking why, while some of you are jumping right into full on defensive mode.
This is Everyone telling the SEC to sign on to The Big Plan. A lot is starting to happen in opposition to what the SEC wants. They are looking like they are on the outside looking in.
You better just agree on those two schools SEC, who knows what they will do to you next.
