I'd be seriously impressed if Bob Hope had a monologue on the shootings since he's been dead for almost 12 years. And Jerry Lewis is 89 and his health isn't the best either.

Maybe the killer got his inspiration from Donald Trump who had these words of wisdom when he announced his run for the presidency a few days before the Charleston shootings...

Yes - race relations are certainly improving. 50-60 years ago, we had multiple presidential candidates who would speak like this and now we just have one.

Is Mexico "sending" anybody? This isn't Cuba. Anybody who thinks they can do better in the US is coming over. Namely the poorer people. Not necessarily criminals though some are I'm sure.

I don't. The only difference is what they might do if or when they get out of prison. In this case, the person is likely to kill more than one person if they get the chance, whereas a murder during a robbery is likely to be a more limited affair.

It certainly looks like it was racially motivated. But why does it matter what the motivation was? He gunned down a bunch of innocent people and should get the electric chair either way. Or life in prison at least.

Perhaps you are right. There is so much gun violence in this country I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people feel the way you do.

It matters however if you want to know why this happened. Is there something out there causing people to want to do these things. Many on this forum constantly say that the media causes this and the president causes that. It seems like those same people suddenly don't want to know why.

While this was clearly "hate crime" and racially motivated. I have no problem classifying and adding it to the charge...but...It serves no real purpose IMO. This guy is going to die for what he did. If I had my way?...He would be executed within 5 minutes after sentencing. The idea that this POS deserves any appeal and that the tax payers should be victimized to incarcerate him for decades before execution is outrageous. In instances where there is NO DOUBT to guilt or in cases of freely given confession in open court? Execution should be very swift.

I don't believe in the death penalty. I would prefer he get life in prison.

Yes. We still attract many if the best minds from the world's countries. Not so much europe these days, but the best and brightest in developing countries still flock to the U.S. So does the riff raff, but that has always been the case.
