I'm surprised that it didn't outsell every basketball game, given that there were a lot of floor seats for the fight that don't exist during a basketball game

RE: Bartow Arena attendance For Wilder/Molina Fight
I made the trip from Texas to watch it. I'm sure any UAB faithful there cringed when they blasted Sweet Home Alabama over the sound system and muted the sections of the chorus to allow the fans to yell "Roll Tide Roll". My daughter goes to UA, but I didn't feel that was necessary in someone else's arena. I couldn't help but laugh at the fans a few rows in front of me that brought a red and white Pom Pom and kept yelling "Roll Tide" during the fight. Still it was good to see the UAB logo on the floor of the ring and for the exposure you received.

The entire student section floor seats behind the goal post weren't out though and that space was reserved for production stage/equipment.

Great day for UAB and Bartow Arena! I suspect you will se the next one at the BJCC.

I noticed they used the generic UAB logo instead of the athletic one. I noticed they have use it a lot lately for things that should be "athletic" so to speak.

It's the little things you notice like that, The removal of Blaze from the license plates, the not showing anything athletic and using the generic logos in the UAB commercials that air during athletic events.

My understanding of the rules for the UAB logo, both university and athletics, is that the "Blaze" logo is only supposed to be used for athletics teams and the athletics department. It's not that surprising that they'd use the main university logo for something like this, generally, but also because Bartow Arena technically belongs to the facilities/business auxiliary divisions, not the AD.

Your list of places where Blaze is omitted in place of the generic "UAB" logo is why many of us remain skeptical about how much things have really changed in the UA System. So far the only real difference between "UAB Football is dead" and "UAB Football is alive" is in talk. The money being raised is great, but so far, I have not seen any of it being turned into brick & mortar or ground breaking for new facilities or even talk of such being imminent.

The UA System TV ads always use their red "A" then "UAB" and "UAH" at the end. How is one unlike the others?
