I've had season tickets on two separate occasions. When I didn't have season tickets, I usually made it to five or six home games.

Last year I went to one game, the OK ST blowout loss.

I don't plan on going to any games from here on out until I think it's a worthwhile product for me to spend my money on. I didn't even watch many games on TV last year simply because they were boring.

I want Memphis to be good. It's fun when they are. When they aren't, that's just one less fun thing to do/watch.

It's not just about W's and L's. That's a part of it, but it's not everything. Pastner has won 70% of his games (or something like that). But I still think his teams are boring, lack toughness and discipline and don't perform well on big stages.

Deep down I believe the Grizzlies have no chance of winning a championship without a superstar. Nonetheless, I enjoy watching their team because they are tough, don't get pushed around (even in an L) and they compete no matter the opponent.

Like with Ok State, Ou will be a REALLY good team, but from a ticket buying perspective, they won't carry the cache of an average person just dying to buy a ticket to get into the building. USM and Manhattan...if they are being propped up a games to entice ticket holders then woof. USM was 9-20 last year, has the NCAA in their business and lost three of their top scorers. Manhattan finished third in their conference last year and loses their leading scorer/rebounder.

Ole Miss is a nice regional game, but they are going to be pretty down this year and I wouldn't expect a lot of OM fans (mean 1-2K) to come to the game.

There's not really much the coach or AD can do, but I will cringe a little over the next few months when I'm told by the staff how awesome the home OOC schedule is and Manhattan, OM and USM are used as examples.

I agree wholeheartedly. If the Tigers are a tournament-caliber team, the OU game is about the only exciting non-conference HOME game on the schedule.

After losing Louisville last year, the AAC is only getting worse. UCONN should be better this year, and we will see about Cincinnati. But the rest of the conference is pretty much blah. Temple and SMU don't get most people fired up.

All that said, first thing is first: Memphis needs to make the tournament this year and get back on track before worrying about marquee home games. They will have enough overall opportunities to get good wins.

Then you two shouldn't buy tickets...moving on...

If you do own season tix, kudos. I just see you on this board a lot scooping up free tix or talking about your club seats, which (based on other stuff you share) can't imagine you are paying for those seats out of your own bank account.

That's where the rubber meets the road for many people.
