At one of our caravan stops in Atlanta last night our AD said if there are no membership changes in 2016 that Louisiana and Ark. St. Will rotate onto the GS football schedule and Idaho and Texas St. Will rotate off.

So in 2016 1 of Louisiana-Ark. St. Will be a home game and 1 will be away.

Of course if there are membership changes for 2016 this probably all changes.

I like our schedule if I had a choice I'd just add GSU to our schedule but if I have to drop two of our opponents to pick up GSU and Idaho as much as I want to play Southern i'd just keep what I have.

Correct, but you guys are rotating on to two new teams, so there's no real issue with trying to keep teams rotating home and homes regularly.

It would be kind of odd for the SBC to not send us to Troy for 5 full years in football...

That sucks but was expected with App St rotating on. I'm excited to play App St and Troy. Hope that doesn't mean we rotate USA off for Troy, those games have been a lot of fun.

Depends on how the league is handling rotations. Does anyone have a set rival that stays on their schedule throughout, or a set group of rivals? Or is this just a straight up thing?

If you look at the teams that missed each other last year...none of the 4 major West Schools (ULL, ULM, TX St, stAte) missed each other, as did none of the 5 major East schools (USA, Troy, GSU, GS, App)

The question is, is the schedule set up where everyone has a group of 4 rivals they will play every year regardless? If so, I imagine that you'll always be on the Cajuns schedule.

They are keeping natural rivals on schedules.

I'm surprised they mentioned that at the caravan. That isn't public knowledge at this point.


I'm not a Troy fan because of wins and losses.

Have you ever thought that Georgia Southern AD might have been appointed the official conference leaker of information by the conference.
