Yeah. Listen to JP. No Comcast TV in Houston.

I listened to the video guy this time. He was terrible. Thanks for the info.

How about Uverse? If not, the FAU announcer said it would be webcast on ASN.

Isn't ASN composed solely of triple-digit (way beyond UHF) broadcast channels -- or alternate/side-band digital channels that either no one gets or no one can figure out how to receive them? Yet they convince some easily duped advertisers into believing that signals emanating from a Bakersfield bathroom or a Harlingen tool shed give you an audience equal to the total populations of California and Texas.

I don't think Comcast gets it. But Time Warner does

Riceowls.com shows a link to ASN online for the game tomorrow. Is it somehow being streamed?

Didn't our last ASN webstream have the bandwidth of today's quantum computers? (That is, vanisishingly close to zero.)

RE: Rice@FlatLantic-FRIDAY-GameThread-HOO?!
And that's the ballgame! Matty Ice with 2 strikeoutsKKKK and a game-ending terrific play by both Lewis and Teykl with the scoop to seal the deal.

A bunch of baserunning blunders kept this one close until late, but otherwise an outstanding all-around game by the good Owls. Relentless offense, great defense and exceptional pitching. The Rice staff now has a 22-inning scoreless streak going....and Ditty moves ahead of David Aardsma into 3rd place on the Rice career save list.

Game Ball #1: The pitching duo of Jordan Stephens (W, 6-3, 6.2 IP, 3 hits, 0 runs, 1 BB, 8 Ks) and Matty Ditman (Save #8, 2.1 IP, 2 hits, 0 runs, 0 BB, 4 Ks). Just exceptional and what you need by your Senior studs to open up a huge road series. Lead by example.

Game Ball #2: Connor Teykl (2-4, HR#2, 2 runs scored, 2 RBIs) who put the game pretty much out of reach with his late bomb, but also contributing with a couple outstanding defensive plays.

Game Ball #3: I could have given it to Leon Byrd (2-4, 2 RBI) or Ryan Chandler (2-5, double, 1 RBI), but I'm giving it to Charlie Warren (3-5, 1 run scored).

Great win, guys....but remember, this series is far from over, as FAU has lost their Friday night game the last 4 weeks previous to tonight, and have come back to win each of those series. They're going with their staff ace and Senior leader, returning from missing the past 4 weeks with "dead arm". We need another strong game from McCanna, another solid defensive effort, and another strong offensive performance (this time not giving away runs).

That's nine wins in our last ten games. Hopefully, UTSA can hang on tonight and give us a share of the conference lead (for the first time since mid-March) heading into tomorrow's game. One down, two to go. Let's put FAU away tomorrow afternoon. Go Owls!

Meeps tack on another run with a 2-out double. 8-0 UTSA in B7. Still batting with a speedy little bird on 2nd.

EDIT: And there it is. MTSU error allows the batter to reach and the runner to score. 9-0 Meeps!! I mean, Nes's luck was due to run out, and it couldn't happen on a better night as far as we Owls are concerned. :)

ASN must be really having money problems. Back during football and even basketball their website had streams for most of he games and even had archived games. With the exception of the last basketball game the announcing work had been really good. Now you can't find the stream even if they say they have one and the archived games have vanished. I have sent emails and tweets asking what has happened but received no response. It is a shame because they had a good product at one time even if the over the air coverage and cable/sat pickup was spotty.

IIRC, the ASN video link was hidden on the right side under "Categories." We'll see tomorrow...

Well, Nes finally gets to the Meep starter with a 2-run homer; still 9-2 UTSA. San Antone's pitcher made it all the way to 2 outs in the 8th, so the Meeps bullpen should be solid for the rest of the weekend. Great job, kid.

MTSU down to its last 3 outs.

And there it is. Game over in San Antone. The Meeps flatten Nes with an anvil, 9-2, and Rice is officially in first place in CUSA. Manifest Destiny, baby. 5 more conference wins, and the ring is ours! Again!! My precious...

Thru Friday:
Rice 18-7
MTSU 18-7
FAU 17-8
