RE: Tigers - USF Baseball
That was a great ball game.

Up three into the top of the 9th...USF opened with a double, then two more on base to have first and second with no out, score 6-4, their best hitter at bat. No bunt...he hit into a 4-3 double play. Next batter grounded out, ball game.

Nolan was pumped.

Big wins.

Saw that on game tracker and it does not make any sense. Lead off double then two more men reach and score in 6-4 with 1st and 3rd no outs. A 4-3 DP. Had to be a line out to second for the guy on third not to score on DP. Anyone go to game to confirm this?

RE: Tigers - USF Baseball
Game tracker was wrong if it indicated first and third.

It was first and second...wondered if their best hitter would bunt. He did not, and grounded to the second baseman, who ran two steps to second base then threw to first for the 4-3 double play.

That left one man on third. Game tracker is often off by a bit...there simply was not first and third before the double play.

(We were there)

About the kind of series you would expect from the top two teams in conference. Tigers currently sit one game behind USF in conference with a 7-5 conference record. That extra inning loss at UC really sucks now. UC have 4 conference wins and two were against the Tigers.

Next 5 games are going to be telling. Could go 0-5 if ball does not bounce right way. Belmont here and then road game at Ole Mrs and then on the road for three at UConn.

25-12 with 18 games left.

8 At FedEx and 1 at Millington. Conference road series at UConn and UCF. Home against UC and Tulane.

OOC
Ole Mrs away
Belmont home
UT Martin home/millington
Miss Valley home
ASU away

Better than usual. Nice to see Tom Bowen and wife there. Winning the series with USF was very commendable. Great performance by our young men. The team chemistry and perseverance is especially noticeable - Rock has them believing in themselves. Thousands of Tiger fans in this town have no idea what they are missing.

Murderous lineup, but I think we can win our share. Belmont won't find such a bleary-eyed, leg-weary team this time. Last week our boys did not get back into town from the game at Austin Peay until 2:20 AM the morning before that game and they had to remove the tarp from the field before the game. The deleterious effects of which were obvious when we were at the plate. A fresh and confident bunch of Tigers will be ready Tuesday night.

RPI now at 53.

Belmont is 148.
Mississippi is 31.
UConn 33.

Get the Belmont game, then split the next four road games and team is in position again it get an at large bid.

Hard to believe but Belmont leads the nation in HR per game, Slugging % and scoring. Also 4th in doubles.

Belmont is reaping the benefit of being in the baseball talent-rich Nashville area. Same reason that Vanderbilt won the national championship last season. Look for Rock to start recruiting that area harder.

Thousands? LOL

Yes

And the same thousands of fans have no idea what they're missing if they haven't experienced a home NBA playoff game.

By "tiger fans" I was referring to those who put the university first.
