Consolidation as we move to 20 team Confernces
Yes I'm crazy. Let me just make that clear. 02-13-banana

I'm sitting here and noticed that there is a possible move afoot to consolidate product within fewer packages. While ESPN and Fox fight over who owns what merchandise, they seem to want to use less packages to ship more items to the customers.

I see Fox owning the majority of the PAC and B1G with ESPN owning the majority of the ACC and SEC. Here's how I see it going down. Note I may be dead before this plays out. I'm not immortal. 03-shhhh

1. The Big grabs Missouri and Kansas in 2016 for the 2017 season. This sets the dominos in motion.

2. The ACC grabs Cincinnati and UConn for the 2017 season.

3. The SEC grabs East Carolina and Old Dominion for the valuable North Carolina and Virginia markets. They are still looking for one more team.

4. The PAC (In a move by Fox to consolidate it's properties and save as much as it can), grabs all 4 Texas schools (Texas, Texas Tech., Baylor and TCU) from the Big 12 as well as Oklahoma and Oklahoma State, Kansas State and Iowa State.

5. The SEC move to grab WVU but lose Kentucky and WVU (Fox reclaims it's property) to the B1G.

6. The ACC looks at Notre Dame. Notre Dame shakes it's head, "No". The ACC grabs Memphis and South Florida.

7. The SEC grabs UCF, Air Force and Tulsa and New Mexico.

8. The ACC grabs Navy (Football Only) and Tulane.

9. The B1G settles on Buffalo and UMass as they are unable to break into the ACC. This also makes all of their schools in adjoining states.

That leaves Notre Dame, BYU, Hawaii and Army as major Independents and a total of 84 teams in the Power 5. Notice how all the Big 12 schools land in Fox controlled conferences. A funny side note is that the borders between the B1G and SEC are the same as the North and South in the Civil War. 05-stirthepot

The Big Ten wouldn't agree to that and I doubt the ACC would either.

Southwest - Baylor, SMU, Houston, Tulane
Midwest - Iowa State, Memphis, Louisville, Cincinnati
Southeast - USF, UCF, Duke, Wake Forest
East - Connecticut, Temple, UMass, East Carolina

Tulsa, and Navy head to Conference USA:

RE: Consolidation as we move to 20 team Confernces
East Carolina to the SEC could potentially work. They are drawing 50,000 without playing in a power conference and could do 70,000 in the SEC.

Old Dominion to the SEC is a stretch of another exponential magnitude. Its not only that ODU's program is underdeveloped relative to ECU's but its a state with a national football power already in Virginia Tech.

That would be like the SEC adding Miami Oh to get into the state of Ohio without the school having the ability to match Ohio State 1 for 1 on the recruiting trail.

ECU becoming the dominant football school in NC is at least plausible IMO given the weakness in football of the 4 in-state ACC schools.

This conference already exists and contains none of these teams. Though VT used to be in it.

It's not realistic for one reason. Also, it was clearly meant to get people riled up. My sources told me nothing close to what you wrote in the OP.
