My guess is that the BoT will wind up cutting a deal to make things calm down. It's how they work. And that won't go to a vote.

At this point, I think a compromise is the best you can hope for. If the UAB bills had (real) support, they would have flown out of committee, which they didn't.

I just hope this didn't "embolden" the anti-UAB elements of UASBOT.

Regardless of whatever happens in Montgomery, everything is getting flushed out in the open. What that means is if the next president wants the sports to return the BOT cannot forbid that action because of the level of scrutiny that will be on everything. If the next president wants an OCS, all he or she has to do is place the action on the agenda formally and due to the radioactive fallout from this battle it will sail through. Believe it or not we accomplished quite a bit through this process. They can no longer hide like they use to and they will be challenged more going forward. Which means they will have to gave solid answers .

They'll remove Watts and reinstate football. Football has been the rallying cry that brought FreeUAB to the attention of the nation. They will do these things to calm down the movement.

It took a lot of lobbying dollars and effort to combat these bills. They won't be able to defeat it after a couple of rounds so easily. They will attempt a compromise Thursday because this fight is getting costly and time consuming.

I don't think the BOT and UA Machine know what the word compromise means.

LOL...what next president?

They no longer have to hide if they can win in plain sight. Nothing will "sail" through.

RE: Opinion: FreeUAB Movement at risk
They don't care how much they spend. They don't want to compromise because they answer to no one. They have bought enough politicians and they believe it will all blow over after UAB gets put in a non-football league. They think it's all about football. They think it's all a big joke. I was told someone overheard Bryant laughing about the whole thing yesterday. They don't care how much media attention they get because they simply don't care and answer to no one. Only thing that gets Bryant's attention is when the Feds snoop around.

demiveeman is right, they don't have to hide because they are untouchable in their minds.

That said I hope I am wrong and they do compromise. Maybe there are a few on that board that simply do not like the light. The rest of the cockroaches laugh at the light. I hope we get something.

I really doubt they're going to offer compromise to the Faculty Senate tomorrow morning; I expect they'll issue threats instead.

Watts remains their weak point. We will continue to pour the heat on that worthless sack of worm dung.

And I'll babble some more: they can't compromise. This isn't a difference of opinion. We have sound reason to believe that Trustees have committed crimes. If we're even partially correct in this, compromise means prison time, because our side will not rest without real transparency, and transparency means indictments.

Don't flatter him or lower worm dung by equating them - worm dung is actually useful to revitalize soil

I think we are on the brink of some amazing times at UAB. I know it is going to get worse before it gets better, but it will get better. I fully expect someone to go to jail over this before it is done. Let's hope it is more than one person, and that it is the right people. With that being said, don't do anything stupid. If you get an idea or an urge, go rub one out then reconsider. I hear that is the "policy" to prevent idiot husbands from making divorce-causing mistakes. Might keep you out of jail one day.
