Friday Softball Cajuns vs Baylor Canceled due to weather, Noon Doubleheader Saturday

LAFAYETTE - The series opener between No. 10 Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns and No. 14 Baylor set for Friday evening at Lamson Park has been canceled due to rain.

The Ragin' Cajuns (30-5) and Bears (29-7) will play a doubleheader on Saturday starting at Noon. The 2015 senior class will be honored prior to the start of the doubleheader.

No.10 Cajuns (31-5) beat No.14 Baylor (29-8), 3-1, in the 1st game of today's DH

Cajuns Lexie Elkins who leads the Nation in HR's with 20 got the Cajuns on the board early with a 2 run bomb in the 1st

Troy beats Texas state 3-1 in game 1 of DH

Jags beat GS 7-0 in game1 and lead in game two 6-0 on bottom of 2nd

the No.10 Cajuns score 12 runs on 8 hits in the bottom of the 4th to run-rule No.14 Baylor, 12-2.

The bottom of the 4th was the most amazing half inning. With rain in the area and drizzling at the ballpark, I was starting to pull for us to get out before they called the game because of the rain but Baylor couldn't get us out after trying several pitchers.

I was starting to think they kept changing pitchers to stall so that it might start raining and they would call the game. I never thought i would ever be wanting us to get put out.

The announced attedance was 1,706. Too bad the Baseball team was playing their DH at the same time with their attedance being 3,975.

Everytime i go see the girls play, I get to talking to these old men who say that fast pitch softball is what they played in the day and that it was good to see such talented girls playing their game.

Oh well at least we are better than App.

We're gonna win one conference game this year. It's gonna happen.

Not really sure what benefit it is for us to go to conf trn and play 1 game and come home. Just a long and poor year for our softball this year.

I wish your girls and Apps wouldn't play in the tourney either. Ya'll will just hurt the RPI of the top teams anyway. Useless games.

Brackets are now set up to where it is virtually impossible for either of them to get there. 5 vs. 8 for the right to play 4, 6 vs. 7 for the right to play 3. The survivors of those games then get to play the top two teams. Appalachian State will be eliminated from the conference tournament when the Cajuns come to town next weekend.
