There website says it seats 15000. A very nice FCS stadium....and where they need to stay.
what about their stadium
Here's a link. http://www.siusalukis.com/facilities/fac...adium.html
This sentence from the above makes one wonder if berm seating is included in the 15,000. Quote:Seating includes 1,080 prime chairback seats as well as spots on the grass berm enclosing the north end zone.
(emphasis added) In an "Ask the AD" article, it was mentioned that berm seating would be primarily for student overflow and for "day of game' sales for others when traditional seating was sold out.
I didnt really care about their stadium, I was just digging a little bit. the there/their since/sense sit/set thing is like the guy scratching the blackboard to me..just some friendly kidding. BTW I dont see SIU wanting to leave a basketball conference for one that is not.

Same here for the most part. I just enjoy looking at programs and athletics facilities in addition to checking on a team's results on the field. The general question about the stadium piqued my interest while I had some time to kill.
The fact that berm seating was mentioned in the stadium's description raised additional curiosities. Missouri (the Tigers) specifically notes the inclusion of berm seating in Memorial Stadium's capacity, but that stadium description also discusses the capacity excluding the berm area. I guess I'm a dot the i's and cross the t's type of person because a description like Missouri's is an optimal one for me.
Back to the original topic, while I think stadium location is a key factor, I also believe that adequate space surrounding a stadium for tailgating, proper marketing of the event and the program in general, and some way to energize the student population would be more important. Creating an event atmosphere would help override location issues.

We added the 4 best teams that the Sunbelt could get there hands on. Why add inferior opponents? We can finally work on improving as a conference instead of adding anyone.
Sunbelt is holding all the cards. We don't need JMU or MSU, but they need the Sunbelt if they ever want to move up to FBS.
That's how I see it. JMU and MSU or bust. The Sun Belt holds the leverage now. SIU is an interesting thought, but I need to see more chatter. Dump Idaho, add JMU and/or Mo State, kick the NMSU can down the road. If they still aren't interested, drop to nine and play a round robin schedule.

Any school with "colored" field is automatically out in my book. Right now, I hate Boise, UCA, and I think it's eastern Washington. Sounds like I have to hate coastal Carolina now too.

Well, since this is total fantasy anyway; I want UL, stAte, TxSt and NMSU to break away and form a SW based Conference with LaTech, UTEP, UTSA, UNT, Rice and USM. If Houston and SMU want to come along, that would be fine, too.
In answer to the original question: NMSU all sports. Idaho to the Big Sky or MWC. All wannabe moveups: Wherever they are now.

Once we are confident realignment has settled, cut Idaho and NMSU and make us a lean football machine. We have a good shot at finishing #1 in the G5 with that lineup. At a minimum Idaho is toast.

Probably need to swap tech for MTSU with their Nashville market. Actually with the rule change coming up that you do not need 12 for a CCG don't add anyone. The best thing is forget the CCG.

Whatever the conference membership, I think 8 conference games should be max. That works just fine with 9 football schools playing round robin or adjust it with some east-west divisions if more than 9 and have a championship game on the campus of the best record. All of us need 4 OOC's (with elimination of FCS if possible). The OOC schedule is what gets the big bowl bid IF that team takes care of business in conference play.

I like how there's only one school you shipped out of the SBC to the Markets conference. I guess it's a shame they haven't done anything positive lately in athletics.
That was a nice way to suck up to everyone in the conference except the hated Georgia State, though...
