FYI - Expansion to 40k requires no structural changes on that base. Just the vertical additions. Was designed for that purpose. Can go to 60k maximum, though that would require some structural changes.

CUSA fans can assist the 49er fanbase in making that a reality by showing up in force for road games @ Charlotte. A season of unfulfilled ticket requests will likely result in cranes on site.

It is a very pretty stadium, and I do believe opposing fans will really enjoy it. It blends in beautifully with the surrounding campus buildings and trees.

It would also require some conference changes as well. LOL

I do think it is a really nice stadium and definitely has major upside.

Haha, yeah I don't think ANY niner fans actually think we'll ever need 60,000. I would say very few even think we need more than 25,000 or so. Although games on campus are ideal, I have no issues with playing a big game each year at BoA stadium as long as it is against a major program.

I think you meant "How pathetic, there are probably HS stadiums in the area that are bigger than that"

I assume you mean our area, because it is clear you do not know where the high schools are in yours.

I can't think of a single HS stadium in the state of NC that comes halfway close to 15,300 seats.

That's a ****** angle for the stadium anyway. Looks much better from this angle.:

With the sunken bowl design, even if you put a small upper level on it, it is going to feel much larger than it is. Look up before / after photos for Georgia Southern's stadium if you want to see what kind of impact a relatively small upper level can have on a stadium with a sunken bowl design. Their's looks fantastic now.

That's a sweet looking stadium and any one who calls that pathetic is either too high or have no sense of beauty in his/her eyes. Charlotte is one beautiful campus and the stadium fits right in. You guys got it well planned even with conference change and growth that is going to happen there should be no issue for you guys to increase the capacity to 40k if needed considering everything falls in place and that 4ok is not the limit but with more people catching the games on TV and nationally realized problem of decrease in the attendance that seems to be a very good plan to start low and grow in stages.

Have not seen this stadium in person, however the picture really gives it no added value as an FBS stadium. And yes there are many High School stadiums in Virginia that the capacity is larger than the UNCC stadium and have more appeal than what I see in the pictures posted. The fact that is new is nice, BUT it looks like a HIGH SCHOOL STADIUM to me!

I hate hole in the ground stadiums....it looks nice but it's not my cup of tea.

TXST has the best looking stadium of any school in the SBC and from what I seen from CUSA In think that will be the case for this conference also. Anyone thinking about upgrading should look at their design and go from there. Troy has the best hole in the ground stadium from both conferences and if Charlotte upgraded to a upper deck basing it off Troy's would be a lot better than GaSO

NN.N posters will chuckle at that exchange. Inside joke.

It looks like Texas State put up a pretty generic upper deck, but nonetheless it looks good. Pic: https://smdrcatscradle.files.wordpress.c...8-1530.jpg

Thait said, I would prefer for the 49ers to build a set of suites on the student/tv view side to balance the layout and deck height with the current press box on the alumni side. The plans do not call for this though. They call for a conversion of the press box to suites, and a new press box above and behind 2nd deck, like most stadiums. The 2nd deck probably would look like texas state's.

I still love the immersion factor of the stadium. Theres a hill behind the seated end zone with a pair of research buildings overlooking the field which really gives the stadium a campus feel that you dont get in those mega pro style stadiums. It is also situated in the middle of campus, and not a far flung back corner, like many other schools. Makes traffic patterns a touch more difficult, but they do a nice job with it so far.

Really, the only drawback, now that the absurd noon start times in august are going away, is that wide concourse. Theres not a bad seat in the house, but the sight lines from the concourse level are fantastic and plentiful; which unfortunately encourages folks to leave their seats and roam around. Expansion would take that away.

What you do to the outside matters....rector set look or the completed look.

TXST went with the completed look as Western did when we added the new side to the stadium. It especially matters in a hole in the ground stadium

Our administration has made it clear from day 1 they're not going to build a stadium that ruins the aesthetic of the campus. No chance we end up with a cheap half assed looking erector set upper level.

Didn't think so. The one thing I noticed about your campus that is very similar to Westerns...

the outside of your buildings.

Both campuses have Presidents that don't want eyes sores just to save money. The style is similar across the campus. Western has old stately buildings on top of the hill but anything build or remodeled matches with the same style that fits 90% of the campus...same for the new side of the stadium and parking garages

Enjoy your 50 point whoopin' at halftime on Halloween. Im sure it will be one of many that UNCC will receive.

You better hope Doc does what he done at ODU and calls off the dogs. This could get quite ugly if he doesn't. It could start to look like the 2013 ODU/UNC game.

Settle down there. I was trying to make a point to the troll. No one in this league is perfect.

Can someone explain to me why Marshall Terd fans have to rag on other school's stadiums? Personally for a school that just recently started football I think the 49ers stadium looks pretty sweet.

People in wv don't have much to brag about. Gotta seize the opportunity to feel superior in the rare chance it arises.
