Near future to me doesn't mean he is leaving this year, should have probably been more clear about that, but I knew there was no talk or plans for him to leave this year.

Looks like this one is not true but I'm sure he has gotten and will continue to receive phone calls. It's just a matter of time unless he just really loves JMU that much. I always wondered why he says he isn't interested in going back to the men's game. In reality, there's only a hand full of schools that have a shot in hell of winning a National Championship in women's basketball. There's a few programs and then everyone else.

He's got a good gig. He has no where near the headaches of coaching the kids who come with being a men's coach. I believe he has the program set so well it practically runs itself.

With that being said, as he gets closer to retirement, I can easily see him going for the cash to finish things off. The thing is, he will have some season's that will not go as smooth as the past 4 - 5 have, how will those down seasons be received by the JMU community, how much pressure will he put on himself, and will there be rumblings that he is losing his touch. This happened even with Lou, as his final two seasons at JMU were very mediocre and people were beginning to ask questions.

Well it's good to hear he is staying, at least for the moment. As you all know, he is a fantastic coach and it's good to see him stay loyal throughout his successive tenure. Not that common these days.

Yeah it just seems to me he has probably maxed out as far as the program can be taken at JMU and would look for another challenge but maybe he can be even better. Hopefully I'm wrong but it's got to be discouraging when you lose 3 games and get hit with a 10 seed.

To point out a few things.

1. I did not say anything about Brooks interview with any program that was no way or shape something I stated or even commented on.

2. I said coach Brooks will not be here in near future and absolutely hold true to that statement. All I corrected was the meaning of "near future".

3. The "rumors" I mentioned have nothing to do with Brooks interviewing or talking to any program. For those who don't know I don't post baseless things and I am usually right about what I post. So if I retracted my statement there is probably a better reason behind it than me starting rumors and then back tracking.

I said Brooks won't be here in near future and didn't state anything about him leaving this year or where he would be going. As in for the ugly rumor, believe me when it's being discussed in certain athletic facilities and especially by staff its scary. I retracted my statement out of respect for coach and JMU, don't be that *** who calls someone out when they are 99% of what they are talking about time and time again.
