Jamilah Lemieux is by every definition a straight up racist, but the fact that she’s black and racist against white people means MSNBC will still have her on regularly despite saying stuff like this.

There are reasons not to like today's country music, but it being racist isn't one of them. That lady is loca.

Music in general has been on a downward spiral unfortunately. Country music has made some strides of improvement, but in general is POP with a southern twang.

Outside of a very few artists, I'd put that number at between 20 and 40, and I tend to err on the high side. I place the approximate time of country's official demise to the release of this song...

You are right on the money with this.

I remember when this song hit. I was never a country fan but I remember this tune well. My family were country fans so that's how I became familiar with the song. This was an early predecessor of the late 80's early 90's country. Its came about 5 years before the rest really fully took over.

Today I much prefer classic country to the garbage I hear now. Once in a while I hear a good one but they are so rare now. I like Alabama and the old giants like Willie, Waylon, Hank (Jr and Sr) ect.

A lot of the modern heavier country just sounds like a HORRIBLY watered down, "pop" version of Lynyrd Skynyrd (with more twang) to my ears. Its very irritating and fake imo.

I always preferred Motown, blues, rock and metal though.

Little Big Town's current hit isn't being played on a lot of country stations because the lyrics could be interpreted as a lesbian relationship (very loose interpretation).
