RE: Reasons I like hamburgers
Gordos and Quatman are my two go to burger spots. Terry's is great (ultimately the best I think), but can be a pricier night for a burger. Quatman and Gordos are so close and quality (and so different from each other) that when I crave a Burger I am not grilling, that's where I go.

Well, as I always do, I ordered my hamburger cooked medium rare, however it came medium. I tried to get the server's attention, but she ignored me. So when she walked by for the fourth time, I gave her an elbow just under her neck. You need to know the server had been goading me almost from the moment I sat down. She had bumped me several times as she passed by our table. She laughed at my request for Coke, and really enjoyed telling me Chandler's only has Pepsi. She said it real loud, so I'm sure most of the restaurant heard it. I usually order iced tea, so mine was an honest mistake. After all, aren't chili parlors the only restaurants that carry Pepsi products.

Unfortunately for me, the manager was standing just a few feet away, and ejected me from Chandler's for the third time in the last four months. I went to the car and waited for my workmates to finish their meals, then we returned to work. They all patted me on the head and told me they supported me.

But, when I got home, my wife told me she had enough of my bad behavior, and thew me out. She said, this time it is for good.

I am a model husband otherwise. I share all the work at home. I attend church regularly. I didn't graduate from xu. I am the highest paid person in the sales department. I've never held anyone hostage, slapped an animal, or had a gun fall out of my pocket as I walked into a client's office.

I think throwing me out is a major over reaction, how about you?

Complete overreaction.

Been to both. Can't beat Quatman's for a quality, inexpensive burger with a Burger. 04-cheers

This. Love Quatman's! I still think there has to be a bookie somewhere in the back there too. :)

outstanding. are you sleeping in the datsun again? my mother has a storage unit somewhere you could post up in. the cot's mine though. it would be good to have a roomie again. anyway, of course that was an over reaction, unless this is some business strategy unbeknownst to you. perhaps you're a pawn to drive in more customers. everyone anticipates the spectacle guy and informs their friends. the more i think about it, it's just good business.

anyway, wildflower in mason is delicious, and $15 for a burger. they're a farm to table and use blue oven bread. and they have rockmill beer, which is great, but also like $15. i was lucky enough to tour the spectacular grounds of rockmill near lancaster and drink for free cuz i know amazing people. anyway, outside of the ones already mentioned, i can add oakley tavern. haven't been to zips yet

RE: Reasons I like hamburgers
I was given a bacon cheeseburger from Slyder's (up in Dayton) a couple weeks ago and it was pretty damn good.

I'm pretty easy to please in the burger department. Much like pizza, it's almost always good and there's a variety of ways it can be prepared to my liking. As long as there's no vegetables or nasty condiments on it, that is. Keep it all meat and cheese. 04-rock

The best hamburgers? Baron's, of course, in Grand Junction, Colorado.

It's a shame that few of you will ever have the opportunity to consume a burger from Baron's, but some of the naysayers and Nervous Nellies on Bearcat Banter should be eating their own words about now.

Jean-Robert's Table the French Chateau burger is a good one. It's very French-American, from its brioche bun to the bleu cheese topping and the tri-colore on top. Consider adding some shaved black truffles or foie gras. Comes with duck fat fries and homemade waffle chips. Pair it with a glass of Cabernet.

Slyder's is very good. Their wings are good too.

I'm sure it's only Screaming Eagle in your cellar too. Maybe have to slum it with Harlan every once in a while.

Prefer Opus One (it's one thing Cronin and I agree on) but will slum with Rombauer or even KJ.

I haven't tried Terry's Turf club yet, but my favorite is Zips, followed very closely by Gordos and Quatmans. Sammy's in Blue Ash is pretty darn good. I go to Chandlers on the West Side, which is a good burger, but not up to the ones above (Just convenient since it is 5 minutes from home)

A thread about hamburgers on a friday in Lent is very cruel to those of us who are fisheaters today.
I want a hamburger!!! For whatever reason beef always sounds great on a friday in Lent.

there are ways around that. for instance, stop being catholic. find a religion that suits you. i'm incorporating many religions into my lifestyle and they can't tell me what to do

That was why I commented. I am craving a big hamburger as I eat my stupid cheese pizza.

Or look up the history of why the no meat on Fridays rule was instituted, and you will likely be less committed to it.

Personally, I love the rule because it leads to all these fantastic Lenten fish fries.

I occasionally put a layer of fries on top of my burger.

I don't believe that a religion should conform to your lifestyle. It should guide you to a better one but that's me.

I know the history behind the no meat friday. It doesn't change abiding by the fast/abstain. I like the sacrifice during a season of penitence. Wanting a burger but denying myself one is a small sacrifice for the sacrifice made for me.

It's probably the knowing I can't have one that makes me want one more.

it baffles me that you cannot like a nice crunchy ring of white onion, juicy tomato, slab of mayo on your burger. but since you said fries, a poutine burger is right up my alley. one of my haunts (mayday rip) had a blame canada hot dog. their outfit was known for creative wieners. this one had, you guessed it, poutine atop a hot dog. my last poutine, i made at home. leftover gravy from thanksgiving. wonderful

I hate all those things. 03-lmfao

As for poutine, I've never had it and the pictures I've seen likely mean I never will.
