MyBB 4* 2016 PG - Marcus LoVett Jr.
Josh was recently on hand to watch LoVett (6'0" 170lbs. from Chicago, IL)

ESPN Scouting Report:

Quote:LoVett Jr. is a chiseled left-handed point guard who was virtually unstoppable at this camp. He is adept at running the high screen and roll and his jump shot was consistent throughout. There is no question he is a talented scorer from all three levels

Hold offers from DePaul, Illinois, Kansas, and others.

Sounds like Josh thinks he will be here in 2016 as well.

I'd sure hope HE at least thinks that!

Yes, he will be here and 17, 18, 19, and 20. So I hope you be here also, if that hate of yours don't kill you first, in 2015.

If I see another miscommunication on defense or soft a-s possession or player leaving their feet to make a pass or Josh pulling a guy for missing a wide open shot, I may just suffer that coronary next season.

RE: 4* 2016 PG - Marcus LoVett Jr.
Check this quote out:

Quote:LoVett played it coy as to when he'll decide on a college, though St. John's, Kansas, Pitt and, yes, Illinois are in hot pursuit. First he must take the ACT in April.

"It's hard to say," LoVett said when asked of when he'll make a decision. "I'm just blessed to have these opportunities."

Irvin suggested that the recruiting process will become more clear once LoVett takes the ACT.

"He's taking classes to prepare for the ACT," Irvin said. "We'll see what happens. But if I'm Illinois, I'm not letting Marcus get out of Illinois."

Not without a serious fight.

Quote:The latest on 2015 four-star point guard Marcus LoVett is that he will not announce his college decision this week but will announce after the season according to Michael O'Brian of the Chicago Sun-Times.

LoVett's Chicago (Ill.) Morgan Park High School coach Nic Irvin told O'Brian that he and LoVett's father urged him to hold off on the announcement till after the season so he could take some visits after the season.

St. John's and Illinois appear to be the two candidates with St. John's having been the recent leader, but LoVett hasn't even visited St. John's. The issue is that LoVett has taken neither the ACT or SAT, and a prospect cannot take an official visit until he has a score from one of those two tests.

There are significant questions about whether or not LoVett's has a transcript capable of qualifying but Irvin is adamant that LoVett will be a qualifier.

If a kid hasn't taken the ACT or SAT until the spring of his senior year, this is RED FLAGS, sounds like he doesn't have the grades.

Wonder why Pastner spends so much time scouting academic risks.

Don't most schools? Most I said, not all.

Most of the kids he recruits are not academic problems. Most I said, not all.

I'm still trying to figure out how Cal got Bledsoe enrolled at UK.
