If he looked at the crowds and thought this was a great atmosphere for a basketball championship, he's out of his freaking mind. To have this in a huge arena where nobody comes is crazy. It looks bad on TV if nothing else. Find a better way to determine a champion where there are folks in the stands when the game is on TV. And play it in a smaller arena like the Jack or Hot Springs. I still like the idea of a championship game between #1 and #2 on #1's home court. Or just do away with it all and make your regular season champ your NCAA rep. That would simplify everything. In a one bid league, a tournament is somewhat silly.

True. The looks in the faces of our kids and their families were pretty priceless. Security relented and let us on the floor to talk with players. Chastity was there. Arrived from Israel a day earlier and literally was sitting on the edge of her seat up in our section. She went down and gave JoFo a two arm embrace after the game. Good to see that they like him a lot better after their playing careers are over. Reminds me of Knight and his players.

Right. Don't like Foley while they are here (like a drill sergeant) but appreciate him for what he did to make them better.

Benson is a joke. The guy said he rather have one team in with a higher seed than two with a lower seed. I can see why the WAC fell apart with him.

Benson wasnt exactly forthcoming to the Presidents in the interview process. WAC had just fired him, and he pretended that he still was employed and all was hunky dory.

He's been applying for other jobs the last two years, but no one else wants him...imagine that.

As for getting rid of him, sadly, he is pretty popular among Georgia State, Georgia Southern, and App State.

Well the Presidents were out of touch if they didn't know the WAC troubles. I'm just a casual fan and knew he had destroyed an entire conference. How could the Presidents not have known?

My guess is that most Sun Belt schools have a president or chancellor like we have here. Doesn't have a clue about athletics or isn't much interested in having a good athletic program, just as long as there are no scandals.

I didn't go to the tournament, but seeing a smidgeon of video(mostly on Facebook because the TV stations sure didn't show any to speak of)of our women's games, and watching the video of the ASU game that I taped(missed the last 5 minutes or so because the previous games went over and the recording stopped at about two hours), that attendance was bad, at least for the women's games. I did watch the men's final and there was a much better crowd than for the women's. I'm assuming that the attendance didn't come near the Hot Springs attendance. If for no other reason than his decision to move the tournament, the commissioner should be fired. For the weak at heart here, sorry about bringing up "firing" again.

How about calling the the "firing squad".
