Yep anyone wishing for that match up is nuts. But I'm guessing if UC gets past their first round game, UK will be the 1 seed waiting for them. The committee couldn't resist setting up the possible storylines.

Teddy Baehrcat story (how the Bearcats got their name) was a football game between UC v UK.

I think the same domination would happen against any #1 seed. Might as well have a chance at history

You are right UC would struggle to beat any of the #1, which is why they are #1s and UC is a #8/9.
However UK is even better than the other #1s which is why they are the #1 one seed.

UC would lose and might suffer an embarrassing beat down.
UC fans share a city with UK fans...do UC fans really want to go to work and hear it from them if UK kicks UC's butt?

Better to have a better shot at pulling the upset or if they lose at least UC fans don't have to hear it for months.

Why can't UC make the Final Four in a different bracket than UK,
